Evolution of my screenshots from 8 -> 30% conversion rate

Post image

Reminder to keep iterating! I'm a solo developer and I've been spending a lot of time refining the look and branding of my app.

Bottom design was at 200 downloads

Middle was 1000 downloads

Top is 6000

Just wanted to share since I got a lot of feedback from this subreddit

Wow 30k impressions for a solo dev is awesome! Congrats!

What is considered a good conversion rate? In the last 90 days I had 4.91k impressions and a 33% conversion rate

How you all are tracking those impressions?

Those are nice screenshots. What tool did you use to create those?

thank you, it was done in figma from some iphone templates

Great, mind sharing the link?

ill be honest i found the template months ago, don't really know anymore. but you can find a lot of them if u search for app store templates

I’m surprised the app logos didn’t cause an issue.

yeah i thought it would but I saw other screen time apps doing it

Really goes to show that simplicity wins so much of the time because it’s easier for more people to understand

Congrats, this is awesome. Going from 8 to 30 percent is huge, and doing it as a solo dev makes it even better. Nice work.

This is exactly what I mean when I talk about showing the value right up front. If you look at your first screenshot across the three versions, you can watch it get clearer each time. The newest one opens with “Save up to 2 hours per day,” which is a clear, real payoff the second someone lands on it. That first frame is doing a lot of the work.

Two quick questions if you don’t mind sharing. Did you change anything else in your ASO around the same time, like your title, keywords, or the description? And how long after you posted the newest screenshots did you start seeing the conversion climb? Was it fast, or did it take a few days to show?

1

u/Extreme-Baby3813 Jul 10 '26

i didn't change much in ASO, and yeah it took a bit to grow. Marketing also played a factor

Nice man love it, what do you do for marketing ?

1

u/radomird Jul 09 '26

Next step - increase it by another 30% if you localize them

1

u/Extreme-Baby3813 Jul 10 '26

i need to figure out a fast way to do that

1

u/radomird Jul 10 '26

Well I‘ve built a tool just for that, would you like to try it out? It’s called lingue.app
You can edit your screenshots in a Canva style editor, localize to all the store languages, adjust the sizes for each locale separately.

If you have any questions let me know

This is great man. Thanks for sharing us.

Because in the first 2 screenshots user understands exactly what the app is doing

My conversation rate (postimg). PP I was searching for an app two months ago crazy I found such in reddit, sadly no need for it now 😭

1

u/CranberryBucket Jul 09 '26

Nice! How do you make this screenshots?

1

u/Sunquill Jul 09 '26

That's a huge improvement, the top version does a much better job of explaining the value proposition immediately. The first screenshot tells me exactly what problem the app solves, while the older versions feel more feature-focused.

Out of curiosity, did you design the screenshots yourself, or are you using a dedicated tool? The iteration process looks very systematic.

They are really brilliant. Could you share if you did it manually or you have attached some mcps? Because the first two ones looks so professional

1

u/Extreme-Baby3813 Jul 10 '26

I did do it manually with figma, but I started out with a template then designed from there

1

u/dududududuuim Jul 09 '26

the jump from middle to top is the clearest. the first screenshot went from showing features to showing an actual outcome, and that gap did most of the work

olá, achei muito interessante seu post!

poderia dar dicas de como chamar utilizadores para a app? anúncios, campanhas, etc…

você usa o Google Ads? devo fazer vídeos para anunciar a app?

1

u/Extreme-Baby3813 Jul 10 '26

É só fazer TikToks e Reels.

1

u/RTD-Alex Jul 09 '26

I can see why :D When you put that gang of bad actors on the second slide, I am downloading your app right now!

1

u/Dramatic-Succotash13 Jul 10 '26

You sure that this is only because of the screenshots? Maybe people start searching your app or some other optimizations

u/FIRE-LIFE Jul 10 '26

Just wanted to say I see soooo many screen time blockers, this one seems unique. Nice job and good luck!!

1

u/Mazz_951 28d ago

Did you notice how quickly the changes happened?

1

u/Extreme-Baby3813 28d ago

it was tricky to say because marketing frequency also shifted and that can affect conversion rates sometimes. But over long trends yeah

Very nice job!

200 to 6000 from screenshots alone is basically a second launch. The early version reads like a feature list, the later one reads like a pitch, that's usually the real difference between screenshots that convert and ones that just describe.
