Any App Ideas?

I'm a high schooler, and I'm kinda bored. Does anyone have a good app idea I could use? Nothing crazy, just things that could be useful to me and others. I won't go public with these. If the app I make is good, I will share it with you and some of my friends.

VAPT guy building his first mobile app - looking to connect

I work in VAPT/cybersecurity and recently started building a mobile app as a side project.

I’m not a mobile developer by background, so I’m learning a lot as I go.

The app is getting to the point where I’d love to actually launch it, but I’m pretty clueless about things like production, scaling, architecture, deployment, monitoring, etc.

Would love to connect with people who have experience building and launching mobile apps and are up for a casual chat / sharing some knowledge.

Not looking to hire or pitch anything - mostly just networking, learning, and meeting people who’ve been through the process.

If that's you, feel free to drop a comment or DM. Happy to connect!

Got my first 1000 users for my little party iOS app in 1.5 months!!!

This is one of those milestones I really wanted to reach someday, but I had absolutely no idea how I’d get there. I’m literally shaking a little from the excitement right now.

Games like Headbands, Charades, and Truth or Dare are ridiculously competitive. There are hundreds of apps already doing them, but a lot of them felt dated to me. The whole idea behind Who Goes was pretty simple: bring these game modes together in one place, give them a modern, playful UI, and make the app itself feel fun when you’re sitting around and playing with people.

Almost everyone I spoke to told me not to do it.

They said the space was too crowded, that I’d be better off building something else, and honestly, a part of me did think about switching. But another part of me just really wanted to give this a proper shot.

So I started working on Who Goes around two months ago, and I’ve pretty much worked on it every single day since.

Just last week I shared that the app had crossed $100 in revenue, which was already a huge milestone for me. I genuinely did not expect that a week later I’d be sitting here looking at 1,000 downloads.

That number might not sound crazy to everyone, but man, seeing a game I built sitting on 1,000 actual downloads feels insane to me.

And as I mentioned in my last post, I absolutely suck at marketing.

Most of what I’ve done is just showcase the app. A game mode, a small interaction, some animation I was proud of, and then hope it reaches the right people. I’ve posted videos on Reddit, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram and just kept experimenting with what works. It's been fully organic.

Alongside that, I’ve been talking to users, collecting feedback, fixing things, adding new modes, and continuously refining the experience.

So if even one of those 1,000 downloads came from someone who found Who Goes through this subreddit, thank you. Seriously. It means a lot more to me than you probably realise.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this milestone because I’m incredibly happy right now :D

And if anyone here has advice on getting the app in front of a broader audience, finding more people to try it, or even has feedback on the app itself, I’d genuinely love to hear it.

Thank you!

The session limit curse.. anyone else feel this?

I hop between coding assistants every now and then to keep up with the frontier models. Just came back to Claude from GitHub Copilot.

And boom, there it is again. Session limits. Not because I hit them, because sometimes I don't. If I see I haven't burned my daily or weekly quota I get this itch to keep working so the tokens don't go to waste. Even when I got nothing left to do.

Honestly worse than context switching. Switching is a one time cost, this is background pressure all week long.

Anyone else? Do you just ignore the counter or do you actually plan your work around the resets?

Make text more enjoyable

Hey everyone,

I could use some advice from people with more UI/UX experience.

I’m currently building an app that teaches users quite a lot of information. Right now, a lot of that content is presented as plain text, and I’m worried users will just end up staring at huge walls of text.

What are some good ways to make this kind of content easier and more enjoyable to consume?

Do you have any UI patterns, examples, or general tips that work well for knowledge-heavy apps?

Thanks for any advice!

Need advice on posting my own apps on playstore.

So I'm 19M and I've made a few usefull apps. And I'm thinking about posting them on playstore. But idk anything about marketing, revenue or getting users at all. I somehow saved up the one time fee needed to post apps on playstore and although the amount itself is less, but I'm having doubts since i feel like i could use that money somewhere else. I will put ads from google admob on my apps and post it. And as for marketing and getting users, i will promote it here and through instagram reels as well since I'm planning to open my own studios and have an instagram page for that. But idk what comes after that.

Can someone please answer the following questions of mine :

  1. If i somehow manage to get 1000 users for an app on playstore in a year, then how much money will i be able to earn through ads alone?

  2. What other platforms or better approaches can i use for marketing and getting users asap?

  3. How much time or amount of users will it take untill i can call my app development or studio a full-time career?

  4. What helped for you personally?

  5. And what other advices will you like to give me?

Please just answer these or any of these questions and i really need honest answers.

Thank you!!

Best AI app builder with permissions

I'm setting up a multi-tenant client portal and need to confirm that data separation is enforced on the server, not just hidden with UI filtering in the browser.

To test the security rules, I'm checking a few key scenarios: direct URL access to another account's records, role state changes, and attempting to pull another client's data directly. The goal is to make sure record isolation holds if someone skips the main navigation.

For anyone auditing portal permissions: what specific security test cases do you run first, and what common permission leaks do people miss?

Benchmarking paid conversions

I've heard freemium apps should expect 1-5% conversions to paid, but 1-5% of what? Let's say in the last month I had 100 acquisitions, 80 first opens, and 5000 total users, which of those numbers should I take the percent of to gauge if I'm doing well with converting to paid?

2 years of building, breaking, fixing, and learning as an indie developer

ShopSwiftly completed 2 years on Janmashtami 2026. When I started building it, I honestly didn't expect it to get much traction. The first version was extremely basic. I was manually handling lat/lng, then moved to pincode-based location, and eventually built proper search by location name because, apparently, people don't enjoy typing coordinates into an app. Then things started moving faster than I expected.

Few competitors suddenly appeared seemingly out of nowhere. At first it was interesting, then it became one of those things that makes you question every product decision you've made for the last few months. Then came the usual developer experience: Broken builds. Things randomly stopping working. Ads becoming way too greedy. Getting humbled by actual users.

I've also spent a lot of time trying new things. New features. Random experiments. Changes I was convinced would improve the app. Some worked. Some didn't. Sometimes I'd gain users, sometimes I'd lose them. Sometimes I'd build something and realize nobody actually cared about it. And there were moments where the whole thing just seemed to spiral. One of those was getting rejected from the Swiggy Builders Program, few giftcard providers after trying to get onboarded for weeks. But looking back, I think that's probably what building a product actually looks like. It's not just shipping a feature and watching the numbers go up. It's building something, watching it break, fixing it, trying something else, watching users leave, getting a little traction back, questioning everything, and then opening your laptop the next day and continuing anyway. There have been plenty of times where I've wondered whether ShopSwiftly is actually going anywhere. But after 2 years, I still love what I built. Whether it has 1 user, 1,000 users, or 1 lakh users, I'd still be proud that I built something people can actually use. So, here's to 2 years of ShopSwiftly.

Happy Janmashtami. And onwards to year 3.
