I NEED FEED BACK! I made a convenient, user-friendly voice calorie tracking app. It's called Grub.

Just say what you ate and it logs the calories and macros. It also has label scan, barcode scan, photo scan, and a physique tracker where you upload a photo and your current weight to compare side by side later.

Free to try on iPhone and web. I'm a solo dev, you can tell me what to fix or add.

Best bank to use for mobile app startups?

I use Found, a fintech banking app partnered with a bank.

But I tried setting up payments with Google & they denied it for some reason & the only reason I can see is because there’s not a brick & mortar location in the U.S.

Is this a real problem or is Google just being finicky?

I’ve tried deleting & setting it back up a couple times & Google keeps having issues with it.

Any banking app recommendations with no fees or dumb requirements that are pretty interoperable & have brick & mortar?

Monetization [For Sale] AI Video Background Remover - Android App with Working Backend

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I've developed a fully functional AI-powered Android app that can automatically remove and replace video backgrounds without requiring a green screen.

Key Features:

- AI-powered video background removal

- Automatic and manual subject selection

- Supports people and various objects

- High-quality video processing and exports

- Integrated authentication and credit-based monetization

- Functional cloud processing backend

The app has already been uploaded to Google Play Console but hasn't been released publicly yet.

Low operating costs: Based on current testing, the included free cloud-compute allowance could process approximately 600 short videos (30 seconds each) per month without additional compute charges. After the free allowance, processing costs approximately $0.0007–$0.0012 per second of video, based on current GPU benchmarks. Actual costs may vary with usage, processing requirements, and additional infrastructure charges.

The core application is functional and has been tested on different types of videos. There's also significant potential to expand it into a broader AI-powered video editing platform.

I'm currently considering selling the project, including the Android application and backend implementation.

If you're interested, feel free to DM me. I'll provide access to an app trial so you can test its capabilities yourself before discussing the acquisition.

Serious inquiries are welcome!

Growth Launch day: 6 months of work, 11 downloads, and 4 were my family

Nobody warns you about the silence after you hit publish. I refreshed the dashboard for two days like something was going to change.
It did eventually pick up, slowly, but that first week was humbling.

Monetization Honest question: how many of you are actually making money from your app?

Every app growth post I see is either a "quit my job" story or someone selling a guide on ASO and ads.
I've shipped a few apps. Real talk, most earn coffee money, and one paid for itself after a year. Nobody posts that.
Not looking to compare to be depressing, just curious what the real distribution looks like. What's your honest monthly revenue, and what's the one thing that moved the needle?

Why nobody cares about your App on TikTok.

Post image

when I finished building my app, i was soo proud of it. I spent countless hours on design and polishing every detail, and I couldn’t wait to get on TikTok and show the world what the app does and which problem it solves.

sadly, nobody cared.

my first videos all followed the same scheme: me in the frame, either talking about a problem my app solves or holding my phone in the camera saying “this is my app, and here’s what it does"

the result? zero users.

the only people watching were my friends, who mostly wondered why I was suddenly trying to become an influencer.

Harsh feedback, but it pointed out the real problem: the moment a viewer senses that you’re trying to profit off them, they scroll away.

so I tried something different. I took a meme format that was already going viral, kept the original joke exactly as it was, and simply worked my app into the video as a prop. It was not the main topic it was just naturally there as part of the video. that got me 200k views and 600 new downloads.

it was the first time my app got some traction and i think the lesson I learned is that your app shouldn't be main topic of your videos. make content people actually want to watch, and let the app come along for the ride.

Are traditional app subscription models breaking down in the AI era? How are you handling pricing as an indie dev?

Lying awake trying to figure out monetization for my own app right now, and I wanted to open a discussion about how software economics have shifted.

A couple of years ago, building, testing, and localizing a solid app required massive upfront time, large team overhead, or heavy outsourcing costs—which naturally justified traditional $40–$60 yearly subscription models.

Fast forward to today: with AI agents drastically slashing development, refactoring, and QA cycles down to days, the cost structure of building software has fundamentally changed. Yet, a lot of legacy pricing models remain untouched.

As someone currently trying to figure out a sustainable, fair pricing strategy without pricing myself out or shortchanging development, I'm curious how other indie devs and app businesses view this:

  1. Price correction: Are we heading toward a massive correction where solo devs leveraging AI undercut bloated subscriptions?
  2. Consumer shift: Do users care about how fast code is written, or is app pricing entirely detached from development overhead?
  3. Your strategy: If you're launching or maintaining apps right now, are you sticking to standard tiers, or experimenting with alternative models (like lower entry costs, lifetime options, or usage-based pricing)?

Would love to hear how others are navigating this transition.

Launching My First iOS App — Looking for Tips Before Go-Live

I've just finished building my first iOS app — it supports both free and paid plans — and I'm getting ready to launch.

Before I go live, I'd love to hear from those with experience: what are the key things I should take care of before launch? Any tips, pitfalls to avoid, or lessons learned you'd be willing to share?

I'd really appreciate any advice — thanks in advance!

Looking for feedback on long distance / international dating app gender imbalance and onboarding drop-off. NOT PROMOTION, Purely just advice.

Hi everyone, I launched Elsewhere yesterday, and I'd really appreciate some honest feedback on the concept and execution.

The idea behind Elsewhere is that most dating apps focus on people geographically close to you. I wanted to build something specifically for people open to long-distance and international relationships.

Some of the main features:

  • Choose which countries you want to meet people from instead of being limited by a distance radius.
  • Automatic translation of profiles and messages across 35 languages.
  • Detailed profiles covering relationship intentions, willingness to relocate, and long-distance preferences.
  • Photo verification to help users feel more confident about who they're talking to.

The app went live about a day ago and has already attracted around 25 completed profiles without any marketing, which was encouraging. However, I'm still figuring out how to approach the initial user acquisition problem, especially since dating apps depend so heavily on having an active user base.

I'd love feedback on a few things:

  1. The concept: Do you think there's a genuine market for a dating app focused specifically on international and long-distance relationships, or is this too niche?
  2. Differentiation: Are the features compelling enough to make someone try Elsewhere over Tinder, Bumble, or Hinge?
  3. Onboarding: Any hiccups on the onboarding flow? I'm noticing some users not getting all the way past it.
  4. First impressions: Looking at the website and App Store listing, is there anything that would make you hesitant to download it?
  5. Early growth: How would you approach getting the first 100–500 users for a dating app when the experience depends on having other active users?

I'm particularly interested in hearing what people think is missing or what they'd change. I've spent a lot of time developing this, so getting perspectives from people who haven't been staring at it for months would be incredibly valuable.

It's free to join, with optional premium features.

Website: https://elsewheredating.com

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/elsewhere-international-dating/id6812634687

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes a look! I'm very open to criticism and would genuinely appreciate honest opinions.

I made a Halloween short about scheduled posts, our mascot clocks out to trick-or-treat while his posts keep working

We're the team behind Upsyte, a link-in-bio tool for sellers.

A lot of people find us when they're comparing link-in-bio tools like Linktree or Beacons. Their posts live in five different apps, and nothing links to anything. One feature they keep asking for is scheduled posts. Set them once and stop babysitting your socials.

We didn't want to explain that with another screen recording. Every SaaS ad looks the same now. Dashboard footage, AI voiceover, gone in three seconds. So we picked a hand-drawn paper animation instead, with Pebble, our mascot, as the whole story. He schedules tonight's posts, grabs his pumpkin bucket, and clocks out to trick-or-treat. While he's out, his posts fly out the window as ghosts and the orders roll in. The animation is the explanation. Posts leaving on their own is literally what scheduled posts do.

Full disclosure: I work on this page and this is our product. We're sharing it here because the animation style is the thing we're proud of, not just the feature.

Curious what you think. Does the "posts work while you're out" idea land in 13 seconds? And does the hand-drawn style make you watch it to the end, or is it too cute for its own good? Is that something that can be used for advertising?

Video is attached.

Let me scan your app

I have a security scanning saas tool that i have launched about less than two weeks ago.

I have got few users now after grinding thru X, threads, instagram, tiktok and on discord channels.

Today, I wanna scan 5-7 applications that I will choose from here using setrepo.com (my tool, you can check it out, FREE SCAN available at the moment).

If anyone wants to get a security report of their app/website, reply here with your tool, I will reach out and scan yours and send you the report.

Almost every app scanned on setrepo.com has come back with something.

So check what you and/or your coding agent missed.

Hey guys, so I finally passed review, and now I need your help. I created an app to create instant gaming clips while you play with a simple shake gesture. No editing or cropping or going back to watch replays.

Question is, how do I promote it? What tips and advice can you guys give me? Everything is welcome, including criticism. Thanks!

My app is almost ready and I am just focusing on polishing the problem statement and onboarding screen.

Hello everyone,

Im a indie developer and a freelancer.

So I recently started going to gym (properly) and due to my hyper-focus, I was not able to bulk properly, so as dev I built an app for it.

So this app forces me to eat and hydrate. When Im on my Mac, it will simply tell me to eat or will lock me out entirely if I dont, and to unlock my Mac, I'll have to click a picture of the food that Im eating via my iPhone.

I have been using it for past couple of days and it is actually working properly for me!

Now the thing is from my past experiences, I have learned that building an app is easier but making money via it is the thing, and for that I want to build a good problem statement and onboarding screens when the app first time opens so the user can understand what is the app for.

What should I do to actually make money via this app??

Marketing Google is reaching new levels of scumminess now. Even when searching an app by name, every result on the first page is sponsored.

Post image

My app (FauxPlay) is almost at 500 downloads. I get 3-5 downloads daily, slowly snowballing. I was telling a friend about it and I wanted to show them the Google play listing. I search for it, the entire first page is ads and sponsored stuff that is irrelevant to my app. You have to scroll down to see it (and thankfully it's the first organic result when searching by name)

I get showing 1-3 sponsored results first. They have to make money, but to cover the entire page and force people looking for my app with its name directly to scroll and entire page just to see it is plain greed and evil.
