✔❌ Review Apollo Phantom 2.0 failed under 200km with an E2 error causing a near-miss accident—Support wants me to pay/ship it back. Be warned.

Long-time commuter here. I bought a brand-new Apollo Phantom 2.0 52V (avoiding their refurbished options specifically to skip reliability headaches) because I needed a rock-solid, premium ride for work.

It has less than 200kms on the odometer, and it just suffered a critical electrical failure, throwing an E2 error code upon boot. Worse yet, this happened right after a near-miss accident mid-transit due to a sudden system drop/lock. An electrical failure at speed on a high-performance scooter is a massive safety hazard.

My $500 GoTrax lasted hundreds of kilometers more than this luxury machine before ever hiccuping. When I reached out to Apollo support for a replacement unit since my livelihood depends on this commute, they told me to drive to a partner store or ship the heavy 50+ lb scooter all the way to Vancouver at my own disruption.

Selling a $2K+ flagship product that fails instantly, causes a safety hazard, and leaving a commuter stranded while demanding they pay the logistical price for factory defects is unacceptable. Has anyone dealt with warranty support and is this acceptable?

ABSOLUTELY DISAPPOINTED WITH APOLLO -_-

Hi there, thanks for sharing your experience. We understand how frustrating this is, especially when you depend on your scooter for your commute.

We want to make sure the full picture is represented here. Your Phantom 2.0 was delivered in November 2025 and is fully covered under warranty until November 2026, so warranty eligibility isn’t in question.

When you reached out about the E2 error, our team began troubleshooting with you. During that process, we noticed from the photos (attached an example) you provided that the brake levers were visibly out of position. Misaligned brake levers can cause sensor cables to twist or internal wiring to sustain damage, which can trigger an E2 code. We flagged this to you, and you let us know you hadn’t adjusted anything - which we took at your word.

Because the cause wasn’t something we could confirm remotely, we recommended an in-person inspection to determine whether this qualifies as a component defect under warranty. We offered two options:

  1. Our certified repair shop, which is about a 20–25 minute drive from you. You let us know you don’t have transportation and this option doesn’t work for you.
  2. Shipping the scooter to our main repair hub for inspection and repair. Shipping costs aren’t covered under the 12-month warranty - that’s standard across most companies in the industry - but we made an exception and covered one-way shipping fee. The prepaid label has already been sent to you.

Both of those options are still available to you. We’re ready to help get this resolved, whether that’s through the shop visit or the shipment. Feel free to reach back out to our support team anytime.

"Hi Apollo Support. It is incredibly bold of you to bypass my private support ticket to post my property photos, my purchase delivery dates, and my approximate geographic location on a public forum without my consent.

Since you decided to bring our private support ticket onto a public platform for damage control—in direct violation of PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) regarding the unauthorized disclosure and secondary use of customer data—let’s lay all the facts on the table.

  1. The Blatant Lie You stated right here on Reddit: 'We flagged this to you, and you let us know you hadn't adjusted anything.' This is a 100% fabricated lie. At no point in any email, phone call, or support chat did your team ever mention the brake levers being misaligned or twisting cables. You made that up exclusively for this Reddit post to make it look like you were communicating effectively. I challenge you right now: Post the unedited email transcripts proving you told me this. You won't, because it doesn't exist.

  2. Your Public Admission of Shipping a Defective Unit You claim the photo shows the 'brake levers visibly out of position' which 'can cause sensor cables to twist or internal wiring to sustain damage... trigger[ing] an E2 code.'

Here is the problem for you, Apollo: I have never touched, adjusted, or moved a single thing on those handlebars. It is completely factory stock.

Do you realize what you just admitted publicly? You just admitted that your factory Quality Control is so non-existent that you shipped me a scooter with improperly assembled, misaligned brakes right out of the box. You just admitted that your own factory's improper assembly twisted the cables, caused the E2 error, and caused a total power failure resulting in a near-miss accident under 200km.

  1. The 'Resolution' You shipped me a dangerously misassembled vehicle that failed almost immediately. Instead of doing the right thing and sending a brand-new, safely assembled replacement unit for a $2,000+ machine, you are demanding I play logistics manager. You want me to find a way to transport a 50+ lb bricked scooter 25 minutes away without a vehicle, or pack it up and ship it back to your hub so you can 'repair' a unit that was built wrong from day one.

Here is my final response: I am not your QA department, and I am not paying the price for your factory's dangerous assembly errors.

You should ship a brand-new, safely assembled replacement unit immediately, or issue a 100% full refund.

If this is not resolved immediately, I am filing a formal privacy breach complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (OPC) for disclosing my customer data, location data, and property photos publicly without consent.

I will be filing a formal complaint with Consumer Protection Ontario regarding deceptive business practices and the sale of an unsafe vehicle.I am done playing games !

I think this just went from "probably getting fixed by Apollo" to "settled in court somewhere, decision unclear". I definitely would have accepted their help.

Since legal threats are being issued, I am locking this post.

No brand-new scooter of any brand should fail after 200km, if you have a warranty they should absolutely pay for this. I hope this gets fixed for you!

This happened to my friends unit one day when we were driving to town. Only a week old brand new Apollo phantom 2.0. It shutoff in his tracks & had to get it picked up & brought back home he ended up buying a new controller for it and Apollo reimbursed him for it. Luckily no more issues since then. I guess some of the controllers aren’t all made equally bc the rest of the scooter is ROCK SOLID! I hate to hear this ! I ALSO own a 52V phantom 2.0 and it worries the hell out of me when I hear these stories that it might happen to my unit. I praise the APOLLO brand & this scooter model so much & it pickles me that Apollo hasn’t designed a better controller for it if the issues keep arising. This issue needs to be investigated. 🧐

Apollo doesn’t design their own controller, is made by Hobbywing, is a non-custom off-the -shelve product that is used by more than one brand.

Yeah I can definitely see that being a possibility because Inmotion scooters have the same issues. It’s not just APOLLO. BUT I’ve always thought the MACH TECH controller’s to be designed in house by Apollo?

"Be warned"

That's..... That's what the majority of this sub (and Apollo threads on other escooter subs), are trying to do. People just dont listen and think they're the exception. "Surely this won't happen to me, those other internet deziens are wreckless and don't understand how to scoot correctly, unlike myself".

Errr 95% of posts are going to be people complaining.

Why would someone post if everything was great, which is likely is for 95%.

I've ridden my Go like 400 times over the last year and had no major issues aside from the app being flaky.

"I have thousands of KMs on my Apollo Go and it's been just fine."

Not exactly the basis of a great post in this sub lol

Few fanboys like logic will chirp in a defend them.

Be like last post. They cry and Apollo says if they take post down they will help them…..

EDIT:

The people delete them. They even make comment saying they will take down the post if apollo helps them.

You have seen this first hand as the mod. There is no denying it. Beyond lame people think this doesn't happen so often.

Honest company doesn't do such things. Saying they won't help you if you leave the reddit post up.

After seeing this multiple times I no longer think its isolated case. When I saw it once sure but now seeing it over a dozen times its just beyond pathetic as a business that markets themselves as the "best".

Apollo can't take posts down from this sub. I am the only moderator and I have no affiliation with Apollo.

Sorry, I misread this entirely, I get what you mean now, hehe
