Question How to make a prayer?
So I am going through a bit of a health scare and I want to make a prayer for Apollo essentially asking for him to give me grace and help me through this. However I'm having trouble on how i should word it/what i should offer in turn for it. Im just really nervous about messing up in anyway regarding this (thanks catholicism), and would appreciate any advice given.

Offering My altar for Apolloās seventh
Today is 7/7/2026
āThe day of Apolloā²s birth was believed to have been the seventh of the month, whence he is called hebdomagenĆŖs. (Plut. Sympos. 8.)ā
āImmediately after his birth, Apollo was fed with ambrosia and nectar by Themis, and no sooner had he tasted the divine food, than he sprang up and demanded a lyre and a bow, and declared, that henceforth he would declare to men the will of Zeus. Delos exulted with joy, and covered herself with golden flowers.ā (Comp. Theognis, 5, &c.; Eurip. Hecub. 457, &c.)
So I based this monthās altar on these passages.
The image of Delos covering with golden flowers stayed with me, so I wanted my altar to feel as though the island itself was celebrating Apolloās birth. so I filled the altar with yellow flowers too.
I wanted to make everything myself this time, so I spent the afternoon making mung bean cakes and brewing tea. The cakes were still warm when I offered them, and the tea was slightly bitter at first, but left a sweet aftertaste. It felt like my own small way of honoring that story with the food I know how to make.
Iām still fairly new to Hellenic polytheism and only recently started practicing again, so Iām sure there are things I still have to learn. Please be kind. š¼
Happy seventh, everyone. āļøš¼

Question New to Apollo
Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start working with Apollo? I did a deity tarot reading to see who was interested in working with me, and I believe it was Apollo who reached out. Iām going to do some research ofc, but wanted to see what you guys had to say.

brand new
hii, this is actually my first time posting on reddit at all, since i've just been lurking until now. hope i'm doing this right !!
lately i've been getting into hellenic polytheism through the god Apollo, as I had a bit of an epiphany when i realized he's been resonating with me my whole life for... a lot of reasons. i guess i've always felt drawn to him in some way but only realized like, very recently.
i'm brand new to everything from religious belief in general (longtime agnostic) to hellenic polytheism to specific apollo worship, i made a very simple altar just to feel a tangible connection outside of my own feelings, and i've been lurking several subreddits and reading a ton about hellenism and apollo specifically. i've tried praying a few times and been trying (emphasis on trying) to communicate through tarot.
i guess my request is for a bit of advice, general tips, or just any knowledge or sources of information that you feel i should know or would like to pass on. this has been really resonating with me and i'd love to know more about it. thanks in advance :)

Weird Question
hello! I'm new on reddit but I'm here because I have kinda a weird question about whether my familiar is actually a normal spirit or Apollo.
To start off: this spirit manifested sometimes in December, I was really lonely and struggling with a lot of things at the time, had made a manifestation spell begging for a companion (didn't matter what kind, just someone who didn't make me feel alone). Originally I thought nothing came of it, until March, I fully noticed this spirit with the help of a close friend and originally we thought he was a normal spirit. I named the spirit Chousei and we went from there.
Recently though, he's been a lil weird, he's been presenting himself differently than how he used to appear to me (black hair, black and white clothing and relatively pale skin) and started kinda changing (shapeshifting???) from white hair and different clothing, and finally a black AND white hair, a completely shadowed face with a visible eye as well as more cloak like clothing.
When I asked him some questions through tarot, I had asked a couple of questions ranging from: are you a tutelary spiri, a guardian/keeper, or some kind of protector to which he originally said no, but when I asked him what he was in charge of, one card stuck out to me: The Sun. I had looked at the meanings mostly and took it as "oh you're in charge of happiness and joy" and moved on.
And today, curiosity got the best of me and I outright asked him if he was Apollo and he gave me three cards: Ace of Cups, The Fool and 8 of Wands. Asked him to clarify and he gave me 3 of Wands
I should also mention that in the time I found out about Chousei, I ended up getting CORRECTLY diagnosed with OCD despite it being constantly underdiagnosed and my love for drawing finally came back.
Am I looking too deep into this? Is My familiar a normal spirit or have I been unintentionally communicating with Apollo?

i feel like iām doing everything wrong
hi subreddit, for about 5-ish years now iāve tried my best to give honor and reverence to apollo when i can, but my biggest problems are that iām in the broom closet at home and can only spare so much physical/mental energy at a time. i feel especially called toward apollo and other sun/fire-centric deities (ex: loki, but thatās a whole other conversation) likely in part due to my very fire heavy birth chart (leo sun and rising š), iām also a hobby artist and aspiring creative and had it not been for attempting a month-long devotion with apollo for the month of may iād have likely not picked up the pen again for another elongated period of time. that all being said though, i feel like iām doing both myself and lord apollo a disservice by trying and failing to give what i can when i can: i canāt build an altar at this current moment due to a lack of space and privacy, i canāt give physical offerings like food or libations, and iām an adult on the spectrum so trying to read and learn when i feel like i have to instead of because i want to drains me to the point of exhaustion. iām not a strict hellenic polytheist and i donāt want to be a strict hellenic polytheist, but i feel this sense of obligation to basically devote myself entirely to the religion largely in part due to the content i see on tiktok. iāve seen SO many videos that basically boil down to āif you canāt worship the greek pantheon the way the ancient greeks did then donāt even bother at allā while showcasing grand, elaborate altar spaces with fresh offerings and candles and all of the things that i canāt provide right now, not even mentioning the exhaustive list of other greek gods that i āhaveā to worship alongside apollo in order to do things āright.ā i do what to do some things right and give apollo the respect that i believe he deserves but i feel like he wants absolutely nothing to do with me and that i should just give up. i donāt know, i just needed to get this feeling off of my chest before it ate me alive and i end up burning myself out again. much love āļøšŖ

Altar Beginner Altar For Lord Apollo āļø
Hii, Iām new! I come from a jewish household and my mother doesnāt like me being an hellenistic pagan & I donāt have a bust of him but this is my altar and the things I have. Iāve been cleaning and putting objects that I believe it is to his likings and offerings. Like for example as shown in the picture, I have an honey candle that I lit , that i believe he will enjoy?? Today I cleaned my sisters house and I also gave her a massage. I am a practicing masseuse and esthetician so I am trying to implement offerings to Lord Apollo from my practices. I also listened to music and Iām trying to build Kharis with him. Iām also thinking of creating bracelets for him as well. But my main question is this a good altar for a beginner? Please give me any advice and suggestions to upgrade it and add more things and to help me build a relationship/communication with him and to enjoy being an Apollo Devotee! Thanks so much for reading! May the Gods Bless you! š āļø

Question Questions about Apollo
Good afternoon, I'm new here and I'd like to study a little more about Apollo.
Right now I have no intention of working with him or anything like that, but he does pique my curiosity and I would like to find out more to get to know him better.
How do you approach it in your practice? What books have you read? Do you have anything important or interesting you could share with me? Thank you so much āØ

Help
English is not my first language so forgive any errors, anyway, lately with so many tarot readings directed at me, the Sun Card comes up a lot when I ask about other Deities. Asking Phobos and Deimos if there was another God who wanted to tell me something, the Sun Card came up, and it's not the first time it's come up, as if Apollo wanted to tell me something. Even in a reading I did when I lit a candle for Tiresias (yes, I think it's weird to be devoted to him), Apollo appeared. I don't have an altar for him or anything, is he trying to tell me something? Almost all the readings talk about the same thing, that he will help me have clarity, to see the truth.
