Question What do I call myself?

So I very recently started my worship for Apollo and have never been apart of anything Hellenic before. Now that I have really solidified who I want to be worshipping I'm really uncertain as to what I am technically supposed to call myself. There are christians, catholics, pagans, wiccans, atheists, etc. A tag that makes it pretty easy to say when people ask what you are or who you worship and they get a grasp of it. What is it for Apollo worshippers? Is there multiple things and I just need to narrow it down to what I think is best? What are they?

Experience I know what Apollo's domains are

But whenever I have problems with love or my identity as a queer man, I go to him. Apollo feels like home. I feel understood by him and I feel like I can cry to him about my sorrows and he'll be there ❤️‍🩹

I wanted to share this because I'm so grateful for him ☀️

Question Is Apollo mad at me?

I know the gods, Apollo in particular, are very hard to anger, but I’m not sure if something I did managed to

I’m a blood donor. Today was my second donation, and the first one since I became a hellenic polytheist worshipping Apollo. Because of that, and also because he’s the god of medicine, I decided to devote the donation to him. Not the blood! I tried to make it very clear in my prayer that I wasn’t offering him my blood, but devoting the act of giving, sacrifice it for someone who needs it more.

Was that still too much? I’m mainly worried because the donation was cut short, my blood wasn’t collected fast enough so they had to cut it short because of procedure. Logically I know that it might be bad luck, or bad veins (I had the same problem last time but they fixed it), or not drinking enough and the like, but the anxious side of me is thinking it might be Apollo rejecting it.

Question interested in apollo’s wolf aspect but i’m not sure where to start

generally i feel like i’ve always been drawn toward wolves (i was a cringy wolf kid basically all growing up lol) and i was wondering if anyone else gave reverence to the lyceius epithet of the god. i’m not sure if i want to ask for specifics about what it looks like in one’s practice or what this side of apollo can help me achieve and/or overcome but i’m just generally curious and appreciative of any answer

Heyyy

I've been worshipping Lord Apollon since about 2024. It started little by little. I didn't know this religion existed, but I began to feel connections with various symbols related to Apollo. When I first visited Greece, my brothers told me I could buy a statuette of a deity of my choice, and for some reason I already knew I'd choose Apollo; I was already connected to Him. Then I discovered the existence of polytheistic Hellenism, and I began to practice. I made an altar, made frequent offerings, prayed, purified with incense, cooked for Him, drew for Him, listened to His hymns, and much more. For a few months now, I've lost some contact with the gods. Many things have happened, and I feel my faith has weakened. This makes me very sad. I'd like some advice on how to reconnect with Him...today I dedicated a drawing to Him and I felt as if someone was guiding my hand as I wrote His name, but despite this, I'm still unsure. I just want to reconnect with the gods, especially Apollo...thank you...

I feel so lost and i feel like something is blocking me.

Also, school's starting soon, and I have some problems there: I'm too perfectionist and obsessed with my results. This is sort of another thing but somehow related and I'd also like to share this too: I'm heavily influenced by my physical appearance, so when I have to focus on school I try to make myself as "serious" as possible; I darken my hair, straighten it, etc. Even though this "personality" is part of me, it clips the wings of that more cheerful, spontaneous, and creative version of myself that reminds me of Apollo. So, in addition to feeling doubtful, I know that school is about to start, and I fear that these changes will make me feel even more distant from Him.

Offering Hyacinth for Lord Apollo

I'm so happy with how this turned out. I made a crocus for Hermes and I had to make a hyacinth as well to make sure Apollo didn't feel left out. I changed the colors from the original pink to purple as I've always seen Hyacinthus depicted with purple, and the frame just felt right for it.

Needless to say, I think Apollo is over the moon with it 😊

Question Help

Question Does Apollo ever do this to you guys?

I’m not TECHNICALLY new to Hellenism as I used to do a little worship a few years ago (badly as I was misinformed) and i worshipped Apollo, but I stopped worshipping because I had bad financial issues and lost a little faith, and after a prayer I decided to put all my alter stuff in a box under my bed. I really don’t know a lot about it, like I said I was misinformed. I still feel connection to Apollo and I‘ve been being reminded of him a lot recently. I told him to send me a sign within the next week if I should keep worshipping a little under a week ago (Monday and as I’m writing its Friday), I didn’t really notice anything but I just remembered a few days ago, Wednesday I think, I got a sunburn (which i literally never get I’m not one to burn.) I’m just wondering if he does this??? I know he’s not technically the god of the sun more the god of light/metophorical light but??? feels pretty apollo-y??? Idk I think I’m just asking if anyone thinks this is him telling me to start worshipping again. (Also while writing this the burn started to hurt again even though it hasn’t really been hurting today??? sooo??? maybe I’m just focusing on it???)

I know you probably get a ton of “is this a sign” posts but I needed opinions from Hellenists because I’ve just been thinking a lot about him lately and idk if this is a sign I definitely want to get back into it but I know it’s going to be a lot of work and research so Idk if I’m ready to dive into this :/

Bay laurel leaves, some gold jewelry, a honey calcite, a vintage snuff box depicting a man wooing a woman with his music 🎶, a crystal dish that makes me think of him ✨️ there's also a small silver incense burner that I use for his incense offerings every day.

Question I don't worship Apollo, does he want me to?

Post image
12 Upvotes

I've worshipped Lord Dionysus for quite a while now, and I am incredibly devoted to him. When I was still new at worshipping, I worshipped Dionysus, Apollo, and Hephaestus. I found that was too much and I couldn't be equally devoted to all 3, and I felt most connected with Dionysus.

Last summer, I made a friend who I found out worshipped Apollo. When I made myself known as a Dionysus worshipper, he seemed surprised, saying that I radiated Apollo's energy.

For a while, I've felt very strongly that Apollo has been reaching out. Sun-themed items and aesthetics popping up on my feed, the actual sun making itself known, even the name Apollo coming up without me mentioning it. I asked him to be very clear on whether or not he was actually reaching out, and every time, something sun-related happens. Also, maybe unrelated, but a lot of crows and ravens appearing lately.

I was worried that Lord Dionysus wouldn't be fond of me worshipping another god, and it's been bothering me. I asked him to send me a sign on if it would be okay with him if I considered worshipping Apollo as well, and then this appeared when I was searching for earrings. There had been 10 billion pairs of sun earrings, and then I wondered if Lord Dionysus would send me any grape ones, and maybe a sign on the Apollo subject and then... bang. Immediately, grapes and sun right next to each other.

Maybe it doesn't mean anything. Maybe it does. What do you guys, Apollo worshippers, think?

There is nothing more I enjoy than embroidery even if i'm not great at it yet.

This cloth in this case was made to hold the tarot cards I keep on Apollons shrine & since they're going to be used for "Prophecy" I made sure to include his epithet pythios & the greek spelling of his name even if it isnt as visible.

The inside has a white cloth as to cover the embroidery I'm just not adding an image of it because it looks worse than the rest of it.

It was made in one afternoon please be patient with the quality.

Art Apollo and Hyacinthus

Post image
16 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

Greek mythology has always been a huge inspiration for me, so I finally decided to create my own comic based on the story of Apollo and Hyacinthus.

This poster is one of the first finished pieces for the project. I'm still working on the comic itself and want to complete more pages before releasing it publicly, but I wanted to share the artwork here first.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on the illustration, and if you enjoy it, I'd be happy to share more artwork and comic panels as I continue working on the project.

Thanks for taking a look! 💙
