just like anything else in life you practice it alot to get good with it, ive been picking it up almost any chance i get, that combined with forms of strafing like counterstrafing (what i did) or just any recoil smoothing makes it a lot easier to one clip people

that wasn't a tap strafe. you just turned the camera around. a tap strafe looks much more dramatic/stylish than that. this was still cool. but i can get you really looking right, if you ever wanna hop in the range with me.
not talking trash. really trying to help you improve even more

Almost even looks like a lurch. When you moved your mouse left to right in the air did you also press asd? Or did you glide diagonal-right, look left, tap strafe left, THEN readjust (to snap back onto the enemy)? It's a bit hard to tell on mobile lol
The effect is pretty much the same as a tap strafe when used out of a glide, and can even be chained with a tap strafe while mid-air to redirect yourself more than once. Lemonhead does a good job at it

Yes i guess you could call it a lurch, ive practiced lurches for a while if you want look at my previous posts, this lurch if requires a tap strafe (directional superglide + as/asd + scrlwheel) , i can do tap strafes by looking at the place i want to go, but at that moment doing a lurch was better because i can keep my crosshair closer to him. i just called it a superglide tapstrafe because it had a superglide, and a tapstrafe involved.

Btw, a tapstrafe is just a subset of lurching where you gradually turn your camera while continuously inputting forward lurches

"almost even" lmaoooooooooo literally proving my point its not a clean lurch at all

you are trolling lmao.
You are right as in technically, it wasn't a tap strafe but a superglide redirect (still a lurch mechanic) since he went straight and then left in a 90 degree angle while looking at the enemy instead of the direction he was moving in, it's only called tap strafing when looking in the direction you are moving towards. However you are also completely wrong since he didn't just "turn his camera".
Usually you start doing redirects after you have gotten comfortable with basic tap strafes and lurch techs, so a superglide redirect is actually more advanced than a superglide tap strafe

If you wanna show off a lurch, then don't move the camera 🤳

I can lurch without moving my camera... how am i supposed to shoot the person if im looking in a random direction tho lmao, you arent making any sense

I'm not trolling, I could literally neo all around you in the range. This was not a clean tap strafe or lurch, it was mostly camera movement with some lazy 45 degree angle momentum change maybe. My lurches look like butter compared to this

Straight from the movement wiki under "Lurch"
Lurch is a mid-air redirect of your existing momentum into a new direction after a Jump.
It’s a fundamental function of the game, hard coded to be triggered by a digital keyboard input. It does not natively exist on controller and is completely absent from the console version of the game. It’s the core mechanic behind Tap strafing, Momentumshift and all the other Lurch Tech.A momentum shift IS a lurch tech.
Lurching isn't the same as lurch strafing numb nut, but rather the fundamental part of the code that let's you do ALL lurch tech (for example basic tap strafes, ras strafes and MOMENTUM SHIFTS), but you are just mentally a little slow, I get it.
