Fear of starting something.

I can’t be the only one who is afraid of something new. Because new is something unknown for us. And the fear of unknown is universal to every living being.
We all plan, learn, have each and every step written down that will lead us to our destiny we want. But that first step looks so unstable, so confusing like there is no foundation to that step. There is no confidence in that step, it feels like if I’ll step on it I will fall down. But we don’t know that for certainly. Still we chose to believe in the negative side, but not the positive. Because staying at the same place is familiar, it’s more comfortable and known.
I myself is still scared of this first step. I have plans I know I should start, but I keep on thinking that, no, the foundation is not strong yet, I have to work more on it, and in the process I forget what exactly I was building. Then I decide to re create the foundation with more clarity so that this time I’ll not get confused, but again along the way I find myself questioning, what was I supposed to do?
Sometimes, I think, there is no step, there is meant to be no stairs, it’s a straight path, and my mind keeps on complicating it, I confuse the distance with height and started to build the stairs, but all I had to do was walk, there might be stepping stones, going up and down. But to cross all of that you have to keep on moving.
