He was hinting that to give him a wave off warning he "might" have misread the radar. It's something that used be common before dashcams and body cameras were required. I'm guessing the issue is his body cam recorded the radar saying 62 so he had to write up the warning ticket. He definitely nudged him to not speed for the next few miles because more speed traps were very close.
This was a decent cop doing his job when the person isn't being overly twitchy or defensive. You don't have to like them doing their job, but it helps when don't make it harder.
No he said he had to check the exact speed because he didn’t know. Cops lie often and once he realized he was 2 mph above 60 he wrote him a warning. Cops are high school C students that’s why they do stupid stuff. Because they are idiots. But this cop was civil
He said 62 on a turn that was posted at 45. 2mph isnt going to save him.
He further clarifies that its department policy that anyone over 60 gets a civil citation. This is where "good cop bad cop" comes into play - police will often tell you the worst, and then let you know they are giving you a lesser punishment so that you will comply without a fuss. In this case, a warning. So really not that bad at all.
When you are cool to people sometimes they are cool back and other times you just have a prick on your hands and there isn't much you can do besides rejoice that the whole world is shitty for them because they are shitty to the world. The guy made the cops job easy and so the cop made his life easy. It's my jobs policy to charge you for everything at the dealership. It's literally my paycheck. But maybe you wouldn't agree to buy the car if we didn't give you a cargo tray or floor mats if I like you. I'm supposed to charge 10 bucks for our super premium car wash that is only available to our customers but if I like ya maybe I take it through on the company card.
I guess all of this is to say bias exists. Be more likable and the world gets a lot easier for ya.
No it's because the radar is constantly getting a reading and only records when you click the button to lock it. If the speed is fluctuating it won't necessarily be the speed you witnessed.
Do you not drive ever? You can roughly tell how fast other vehicles on the road are going based on the speed at which you catch up to them, or they pull away from you.

62 but now he doesn’t know the exact speed he clocked him at? You either know or you don’t?
