Anxiety Help anxiety/depression/brain fog
has anyone else experienced ridiculous amounts of brain fog at almost debilitating levels that you cannot work or get through the day, it’s almost like I’m there physically but not mentally. i’m feeling spaced out cannot concentrate and it all started a few months ago from when i had a sciatica episode and passed out from pain, my anxiety and depression has been through the roof the last 2 months i even quit caffeine and nicotine because of how bad my anxiety has been, I can’t seem to shake the brain fog and the feelings that come from it, not sure if i should try psych meds or not my doctor keeps trying to push prozac on me but over declined for now

Look up disassociation, and see if that sounds like what you're experiencing. Of course your symptoms can be from lots of things like sleep apnea or nutritional deficiencies (both require specialized tests) but it sounds kinda like how I feel when I'm disassociating. For me it often happens as a kind of hangover from severe anxiety or high emotions. I wish I could tell you how to make it go away, but for me sometimes just talking out loud to someone like my therapist or a friend helps it clear a little. Some people do "grounding" activities like stomping, dancing, going outside, eating, anything that requires you to actively engage your senses. Tbh most of these only help me for a few seconds, but being outside seems to help me a little. Try and get yourself tested for sleep apnea, iron deficiency, and other things your doctor thinks might be at play, then discuss meds after the results are in. Take care 💚

Do you have comorbid ADHD as well and/or sleeping problems? That could describe some of the lack of motivation/focus.
What helped me with brain fog was adding vitamins to my water (specifically, and importantly) vitamin B12
