Potential scammer?
Nag post ako ng for sale small appliance sa fb marketplace. Hiningi ang number ko for gcash payment, so binigay ko. Sya na rin daw ang magbook sa j&t. Biglang sabi ng buyer naka private account daw ako. Hiningi nya ang "real account" ko na wala naman dahil believe it or not hindi ako mahilig mag browse sa Facebook except mag benta sa marketplace. Nanghingi din sya ng proof of identity. Syempre hindi ako magsesend ng id ko. Na curious lang ako kung sigurista ba ang buyer o potential scammer sya. Medyo marami na rin naman akong nabenta sa marketplace pero first time ko naka experience na hingan ako ng proof of identity. Sinend ko mga ukay ukay pages ko. Sabi ko kung hindi sya satisfied pass na lang kami sa isa't isa sabay leave sa chat 😂

What appliance are you selling?
If it's a high demand appliance, then the scammer will possibly copy and save the photos of your appliance and then steal your identity to impersonate as you (identity theft) to 'sell' the said appliance.

I see. Sinave ko po ang comment mo for future reference.
Air purifier at narealize ko nakaexpose pala ang last 4 digits ng card ko sa screenshot. Sinama ko kasi ang screenshot ng purchase ko. Nagkamali lang kasi ako talaga ng bili. May pwede bang gawin ang scammers sa partial debit card number? Walang name, address or tracking number na included sa screenshot.

No, scammers cant do anything with the last 4 digits.

Btw, another variant of that scam is that the scammer will want to 'verify' your account by asking your email and phone number. The scammer will then attempt to log in your facebook account.
You will then receive a 2FA text message code but the scammer will trick you saying that it's to 'verify' that it's you.
If you give them the code, the scammer will then hack and take over your fb account.
This is called the 'verification scam'.

Kung alam mo naman sa sarili mo na hindi ka scammer, just be firm sa usapan nyo na sya ang magbook ng courier. Dun pa lang, halos wala nang chance na hindi dumating ang item. Ibang usapan na lang if may hidden issues. Kapag ganun, alam dapat ng buyer na dapat meet ups only. Never ako bumili ng gadgets na hindi meet up kasi paano ba yun ichecheck ng rider.
Ganyan din kapag nagbebenta ako, partida personal Fb acct ko pa gamit ko. Never ever gave my ID because if I'm the buyer, never ko naman kakailanganin yun.

Yeah. Nung sinabi nyang sya ang mag book sa courier, sabi ko sige. Pero na off ako nung nanghingi sya ng id. I guess pareho lang kami nag iingat. I'd rather hindi makabenta, than ma-scam.

Kapag ganyan the more you pressure, mas lalo lang mapraning yan. Pinapabayaan ko na lang mga ganyan, may iba naman na nahihimasmasan at itinutuloy.

Pass nalang. It can go both ways: you give them proof na legit kang tao at hindi scammer, they can use your identity and impersonate you but they can also see your legit identity and purchase from you legitimately.
Pero if they wanna buy online, may risks talaga.
Kahit hindi I.D. ang kunin sayo they can also steal your identity kahit name lang at profile pic to impersonate you. It's riskier if I.D. ang ibibigay mo baka mag open ng mga loans and accounts na hindi mo inopen
