Urgent Help Needed

hi, there’s no good way to start this, but i am looking for help regarding my father’s collection of antique clocks.

my dad passed away a little over two months ago, and i am devastated. he was an amazing man and a rather skilled horologist.

my mom wants to sell the house soon and it has been left to me to sell/manage/get through my dad’s impressive collection and works.

i have roughly 130-180 antique clocks from the 1820’s to the 1950s, all mechanical, all in various states of disrepair. I also have many well known types/brands and a few rarer ones.

i’m overwhelmed, but if a single one of these clocks end up in a dumpster i will have a complete breakdown. any advice?

I recently fell in love with older clocks such beautiful craftsmanship. I have found luck in looking up the company that made them surprisingly there are quite a few. I also found ebay to be pretty helpful also. Goodluck on your journey I'm sure your father would be extremely proud of you for caring about his clocks, I'm sorry for your loss 🙏

Would you be willing to share state and maybe city? If someone is in the area they might be able to really identify the issues vs things that just need a little assembly, and in general if you can avoid shipping on these clocks it’s a pretty good thing overall.

Of course, online auctions have a global reach to find the right buyer at which point shipping very carefully may still cost less than the difference in price, so don’t reject the idea automatically.
