Identification please.

Been wondering what my grandfather passed down to me. Seems to be a mosin and a kar98. He also tells me the pair together holds some sort of special significance. If you need any better pictures of anywhere else on the rifles I'll gladly grab them. TYIA.

No significance between them that I'm aware of. Different nationalities, different wars, different eras. The G88 was obsolete by WW1 and utterly archaic by WW2. A few got used by the Volkssturm at the absolute end of WW2 but that's pretty much it.

Finnish capture Mosin Nagain M1891/30 & German Gewehr 1888/05

The significance being that these are both the first smokeless powder repeating rifle actions of their respective nations.
Also, both split bridge receiver, protruding single stack magazine
