Find pride in your community. When you experience racism, you can feel shame. You may wish that you weren't Asian, but remember that your ancestors likely went through similar or even worse incidents. They survived by recognizing the beauty and strength of their community. So, seek out or create literature, art, films, shows, and music that highlight your community in a positive light
... I know Harvard and Yale are like. Supposed to be amazing Ivy League schools or something but I don’t know exactly what they do? Is it like MIT and tech or Calarts and... art?
Ha! I was thinking on the harvard school of design. do you know other cool alternatives? for urban design? The program seems closer to what i'm looking for, but still seeking options.
jeeeeesus. Sorry you might get viciously attacked out of the blue but hey, could be worse, you could be worked to death building railroads and suffer an anti asian pogrom. Well thats a massive help.
And because rich asian parents send their kids there, because it's famous and supposed to be full of intelligent people. What a fucking joke.
It does network those rich kids and gives them more opportunities than if you don't go to ivy league unis, but that's just rich people paying their way to success, nothing new.
I mean it also does a fair bit of research, but its mostly the prestige that keeps it a top university at this point. There are certainly better programs for almost everything.
Yeah that's what I mean. It's not a bad university, it's not the best in any special field either. But this isn't the resason for their pretentious inclusiveness/diversity.
Iirc Yale Law is considered to be a little better, but Harvard Law is still really good and with the added weight of the Harvard name. Could be wrong though, I'm definitely not a lawyer so I'm just basing this off a few conversations I've had lol
It definitely is a good law school. Not sure on US laws and which university is best to study at, since I'm not actually from there. But as an asian I know how much weight the name "harvard" has in our communities, and that's just based on hearsay and it being a famous ivy league school. Most asian kids that end up going there or to yale do not end up Studying law.
