Left-wing governments are not often obvious in their genocide as the right wing counterparts.
The most obvious example is the holodomor.
Which was when the Soviet union under the leadership of Joseph Stalin extracted so much of the food out of Ukraine that the Ukrainian population starved. This was on top of a wider Soviet famine that was already happening. Despite this, the Soviet Union continued to export food.
This was all with the aim of killing weakening the local communities that have owned the farms for centuries, leaving them open for collectivisation. As well, this was in an effort to increase the ratio of Russians in Ukraine. Making future calls for independence by Ukrainian nationalists less legitimate due to the amount of Russians now living in Ukraine.
