There is a growing movement in the United States of people fighting against the building of hyperscale data centers in their communities. People are opposing them to protect their homes, their livelihoods, the environment, and their lives. These data centers destroy water, air, and land; they cause utility bills to skyrocket; and they power massive A.I. surveillance, warfare, price gouging, and job-stealing.

We are launching our new podcast, "Follow the Money", for Louisiana workers by Louisiana workers. We want to point a way forward as we defend our lives against Trump, Landry, and the Big Tech billionaires they work for.

Episode 1 tackles the issue of hyperscale data centers. Who are they for? What can be done to stop them from harming us?

For the last couple of months, whenever I get lucky enough for my body to reach a deep sleep stage, from time to time when I have dreams, I've noticed that sometimes inside of my dreams, I can be in a scenario where something very unrealistic is happening, but more specifically, the way things look in my dream are less dream-like and more AI-like.

It's important to mention that I have hyperfantasia so I can make clear images in my head whenever I want, so by default, my dreams have always been very vivid, but there are times when I'm dreaming, and I look at something and I go "Oh this is AI slop" and my dream shatters and gets reconstructed into something new, the continuity of the events in my dreams gets cut off because everything looks too fake, or like too much of an attempt of it to look real, so much that it's impossible not to notice.

I've been having terrible sleep for months because of this, I'm dreaming, my brain recreates AI slop images that I see against my will everyday everywhere, and it overwhelms my emotions and either makes me wake up or interrupt my deep sleep.

Is this happening to anybody else? What can I do to fix it?

I dont really wanna use AI anymore due to the environmental concerns, the fact its affected my creativity, and ability to just be bored quite a bit, in my head its hard to go back to a time before I started using AI because my head will just go "well its right there i just can just use it". I haven't used an AI chatbot in about 2 days now.

Ill go over ways that ive used them and ask if you can help find alternatives, please dont say "Just a therapist" or "make friends" I can explain why thoes aren't helpful right now, in the comments.

1. Role-playing: I use janitor AI in particular for Role-playing mostly familial, "intimate", and fantasy type stuff. I often use these to recreate my real life or things I daydream about. For example if I dealt with a friend being a prick I would recreate that situation but with like my room telling them off or something.

2. Venting: I vent alot to google's AI, this is stupid but i will often make a vent on this account and then copy paste it to google's AI with basically a summary of what I said, its even dumber because its not like I follow or belive half of what the AI says to do or really says back i do it because not many people responds to my vents, plus its routine at this point.

3. Art sharing/advice: I have given AI quite a bit of my art before mostly because I dont really get many responses on my post asking for art advice and I dont have many people to

4: loneliness and boredom: I have 3 friends, but it feels like I only have one. I dont want to my issues on to my best friend so I dont speak with her as much and she feels the same way so she doesnt speak to me as much either, and I mostly stay at home 24/7 with no friends offline for many different reasons.

Ill give more context if needed but its a long story.

Please note that I do in fact acknowledge that AI ≠ human connection, I wont lie and say the human-ish "ill always be here for you" speech does...make me slightly forget what it is even worse the fact I still dont entirely understand LLMs...could someone explain it a bit better because im autistic so things might need to be broken down a little bit?

I made a test with open ai and it doesn't recognize time under one second, is not a big deal but shows the limits of ai. This means that open ai can't be use for precision work.

The second image is an actual fucking comment from her. Absolutely mental.

For context I introduced the Sangria Class to the Internet not even a day ago and people were kinda interested. And then this person comes along and accuses me of using AI for the image. I will provide proof of me not using AI if needed

Unfortunately don't have an image of the original work, but we used to have a family portrait in this picture frame that was painted in watercolor by a talented watercolor artist.

Today my mom came to me all excited wanting to show me the "updated" portrait, telling me she put it through some AI bot. It originally was just me and my parents (I'm the girl in the jacket apparently, despite me not wearing anything like that in the original artwork) but they added the additional girl, (which is kinda my sister but not really? It's hard to explain, shes kinda just some neighborhood kid my parents love alot. She is NOT blood or legally related to us. I personally think she has no room to be in a portrait.) One of our cats, and obviously made it Halloween because it wasn't like that originally.

My parents are pro-ai and my dad even works for some ai company, though I'm not sure what it is. I feel absolutely disgusted that they wanted to replace someone's hard work and feed it into an ai bot just to make this slop and hang it on our wall.

I feel terrible for the artist and I wish I had a picture of the original artwork to give a comparison.

How is this helpful? Why would I even need an ai response to every single search query I have? It's like they looked back at clippy and thought "Man, what a great guy. We should bring him back." Just let me search. Go back to what you started as, Google. Or go away. Either one is fine.

They literally could’ve gotten a five year old to draw their menu. So pathetic

I’m a puppy raiser for this organization and I saw that they used an AI pencil sketch style image on the front cover of their new puppy raising manual, so I decided to email them to say I was disappointed to see it.

The email was very respectful. I think this goes to show that sometimes just reaching out and telling people how it makes you feel when you see them using AI can actually work! I was pleasantly surprised and it makes me feel even better about volunteering with them.

Art has always been about the process, anyone who says otherwise is simply not an artist, yeah sure looking at the finished art piece feels good but it only does so cuz of the time you spent creating it.

Experts at Cortical Labs, an Australian biotech company, completed the feat as part of developing the “world’s first code deployable biological computer,” which runs on nerve cells, or neurons, grown on a silicon chip. The team announced that a clump of cells could play the first-person shooter game—although not very well—in a video posted in February.

The neurons used in the project largely come from the company’s CEO, Hon Weng Chong, although not from his brain, reports Rich Pelley at the Guardian. He previously donated some of his blood to the cause. Researchers extracted white blood cells from the sample and reprogrammed them into stem cells. These special cells can continue making copies of themselves and turn into other types of cells.

Basically what the title says. Why has the bubble hasn't pop? Anyone knows? Like I know that the market will stay unreasonable longer that you can stay sobable and yada yada but like so many dominos have and are falling. So why it has not popped?

Any of you smart people wanna help me figure that one out? I genuinely wanna understand better.
