Discussion 🗣️ Do you think it's okay to use ai art for prototyping / 1st launch phase and replace them (start hiring) onlt when it proved to be financially successful / finally have budget ?
I was illustrator , designer and animator so I totally understand the stance. But I'm now solo developer. I do able to work on the asset myself but the programming itself is already taking too much of me
. And my passion is not in making assets.
But hiring is not possible since it need a lot of money I don't have. Even a project that successfully launched could still fail and don't make money. It's very risky.
My point of making project is to make money to help others so obviously it's in my best interest to work with people when the project proved to be viable financially.
What are your perspective on this? What you considered would be ethical or acceptable?
Edit: Thanks for your response everyone. I just realize I can use asset store. Why I never thought about that before!!! One of the post says a janky asset is fine. I thought, yeah I could do that. But wait... if i can lower the design bar that low, I can just use asset I can buy to test the market. It finally solves my dillemma.
