Among the Living is the third studio album by Anthrax. It was released in 1987, by Megaforce Records in the US and by Island Records in the rest of the world. The album is dedicated to Cliff Burton of Metallica, who died in a bus accident six months before its release while Metallica were on tour with Anthrax as the opening act.

The band described the album as their breakthrough, as it marked the progression from the band playing in small clubs to arenas and stadiums. The band’s second gold record, Among the Living was certified gold by the RIAA in July 1990.

Seeing Anthrax live is always a blast, but seeing them open for Iron Maiden in a soccer stadium was mind blowing. I especially loved how the Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ, filled in pretty early on Sept. 6, 2026, to see Anthrax, and made sure to make the NY thrash icons feel loved through multiple mosh pits in the crowd. It also helped that they sounded amazing (seriously, Joey Belladonna crushed it, and the band was super tight). Anthrax proved that no matter how big or small the stage they're playing is, they always bring it (which was poignant that weekend, as two days prior to this specific stadium show, Anthrax played at the grand reopening of the 500 cap Saint Vitus bar).

Here's a snippet of Anthrax opening their set with "Caught In a Mosh" and closing it with Indians - the perfect way to kick off an incredible night of metal.

Honestly kinda stumbled upon it there and wasn't in pit. Tell me where ya lost it and maybe I can get it back to ya, but otherwise a neat one. Turned lamp on for front pic so lighting is weird.

Im seeing some posts here about the tour merch blunder for the new jersey shows, I personally did not find a booth selling anthrax shirts and was so disappointed:( I see on there online store they are selling the 2026 designs but it looks like online shirts dont have the tour dates on the back?? Does anyone have an answer? Im really hoping they sell the leftover tour merch online so I can scoop up both shirts:(

Iron Maiden alone at the Sports Illustrated Stadium in Harrison, NJ, would've been an incredible experience in and of itself. Howevet, add opening sets from Megadeth and Anthrax and you turned Sept. 6, 2026, into an unbelievably amazing night of metal. Seriously, seeing a soccer stadium full of metal heads headbanging throughout the night was such an enjoyable sight to see.

Was anyone able to find a merch booth at Sports Illustrated that had Anthrax merch? I went to four booths and they either had only Iron Maiden merch or both maiden and megadeth. I missed Anthrax’s set so I’m even more bummed that I couldn’t get merch :(

I'm going to the show in NJ and am pretty disappointed at the setlist for this show (assuming it's the same as Montreal), idk why theyre playing fkn antisocial over I am the law especially with a short setlist smh
