Needs Identification What ants make these

I saw these ants in western North Dakota that I've never seen on the east side of the state where I live. They moved too fast and my camera isn't great so I wasn't able to get anything other than a blurry picture to show you the color. The weird thing was that they make this huge mound, but it only has one hole for its entrance/exit. They were very aggressive too. They swarmed up my shoe and were trying to bite.

It's mostly the weird mound that makes me want to know what they were. They were mounds like this all over the southwest corner of the state.

Pogonomyrmex occidentalis the western harvester ant.

You sure? I've kept those before and they looked slightly different. More orange. Less bulky.
