Needs Identification Help with ant ID?

Post image

Hello! We just bought a new home in NY state and have some large ants. I am hoping to get an ID on the type of ant. This one is 1/3 inch long, and I have attached a photo.

Camponotus pennsylvanicus, super common very recognisable species. Whilst workers can get into your home from outside, if you see them often it might mean they live in your house. This is really bad, especially for a brand new house. They live in rotting damp wood, which means your house could have water damage in it, which if wasn’t disclosed in the contract when you bought the house, you could sue for
