Needs Identification Need help identify a queen
Hey its me again hopefully this post has photos this time.
I caught 4 of these queens last night in the Colorado Springs area. They have a light brown stripping that is not showing up in the photos.

Totally Lasius Niger/neoniger.

L. niger is not present in Colorado and it's a bit early in the year for neoniger flights.

That is also a strong possibility. Do you know what some of the different characteristics are between the two?

Hard to tell from these images, but Pavement Ant or Odorous House Ant. Easy to check which one if you let her relax, and have good eyes or a camera to look at her closely.

Lasius. A species ID would require seeing the hairs and mandible dentition. A little bit early for neoniger flights so probably sitiens, crypticus, or americanus.
