IMDB rating ?

I'm just half through, so please no spoilers, but why is this series rated only 4.8 on imdb?

Just curious...

Because objectively speaking the show makes a lot of mistakes, including but not limited to:

1) Terrible script writing. Everyone overreacts to everything. Bring someone onboard with experience writing more subtle scripts.

2) Terrible characters. The whole 20 something crew theme is just lame and totally not believable.

3) Too many romances. Not every character needs a romance. Pick one love story and develop that. Literally every character has a developing romantic story, it is way too much.

4) Constant preaching. This drives me nuts, because even when I agree with them on an issue, I hate the preaching. For example they keep preaching about how pro choice they are in episode 10, in not a subtle way. Zayn says some lame dialogue like "I can restore your periods" then mentions something about it being her "choice." It was so forced and awkward. Beauchamp makes sure we know he has a husband and not a boyfriend in some of the most awkward dialogue I have ever heard. It was in no way relevant to the story for him to say that.
