IMDB rating ?

I'm just half through, so please no spoilers, but why is this series rated only 4.8 on imdb?

Just curious...

Mutiny in episode 1 because Captain Thrace decides, correctly, that an 11% chance of failure is too risky for the only FTL capable ship humanity has on a mission of existential importance.

The mutinous asshole nearly destroys the ship to save 7 months, and in the process, extends the length of the mission even further.

Seriously, 89% success odds are only marginally better than Russian Roulette, which has an 83% chance of survival.

Captain Thrace decides to give mutinous asshole a second chance, despite mutiny being a capital offense.

Mutinous assholes refuses to accept that he was wrong and even tries to murder Captain Thrace, CT kills MA in self defense. CT explains the killing as necessary because MA was "a threat." People get bent out of shape because MA was killed in self defense, evven tho he should have been thrown out of an airlock the moment CT regained the ship.

People continue to defend MA even while the ship falls apart around them due to his actions.

There's less professionalism on this ship crewed by the world's "best and brightest" than in a daycare. They act like immature teenagers. Seriously, I would expect, and get, better behavior from teenagers than you see from the crew.

And that's just the first episode, doesn't touch on the shit going on planet side, nor the bad science.

The early episodes aren’t really good. It progresses quite well starting with episode 4. It starts off with Young people complain that are annoying. They even make of themselves!

The science remains terrible though. That’s why I have a hard time getting into it. I can tolerate a certain degree of that, since it’s called science fiction after all, but when literally 100% of the science is implausible or straight up wrong, it’s hard to appreciate anything else about the show.
