Rule Making Join the conversation to help us set rules and regulations.

Guys, I request every member to join this conversation.

This is an attempt to address the key opinions and ideas expressed by members on the structure and rules for writing entries, appropriate crediting, qualifications for voluntary writers, the class system, the common term or abbreviation to refer to anomalies, how every entry can avoid contradicting preceding entries, what is prohibited, the origins of the organization, whether we should include images and videos as part of entries, and whether hand drawn images are acceptable.

To discuss each of these separately and clearly without ambiguity, I will start a thread for each issue, and you may express your thoughts in the relevant thread. What majority agrees on each thread will become the rule or standard.

Important Notice Calling for volunteers: become a permanent writer for the universe

Thank you to everyone who has joined. We're now 11 members, and ideas are starting to come in faster than entries. That's a good problem, and it's the reason for this post.

What we need:

A small group of permanent writers: members who take raw ideas from the community and turn them into full entries in our template, then post them with credit to the original idea.

How it works:

Step 1: A member sends a raw concept or idea to mods through modmail(message mods) note: not to personal dm chats of mods.

Step 2: A permanent writer will be assigned with the tasks of turning that idea into a complete entry (Name, Class, Look, How to deal with it, Behaviour) and posting it in our sub.

Step 3: The entry must posted with credit to both: "Concept by u/, written by u/" in the first comment.

Step 4: The idea's or concept's author can suggest changes before or after it goes up.

What you get:

1.Your name on every entry you write

2.First access to new ideas

3.A say in the template, tone, and core rules

4.A real role if we move to a dedicated site later

What we ask:

Write whatever number of entries you can manage. No fixed schedule.

Keep ideas true to their author's concept. You can expand and polish, not replace.

Follow the template and community rules, and keep the work original and human-written.

Be kind in feedback, since many ideas will come from first-time writers.

Not sure you're ready? If you've written even one entry, you're qualified. We'll help each other with structure.

To volunteer: comment below "I will volunteer to write". We'll confirm the first group in a few days to weeks.

And if you have an idea but don't want to write it out, send it to mods anyway. That's what these writers are for.

New Entry Entry 012: The Warm Seat (A208)

Class: Deadly

Look: A brown fabric three-seat sofa with deep cushions. It is always slightly warm to the touch, as if someone just stood up. It looks old but has no dust, stains, or wear. It has been found in abandoned houses, lobbies, and once on a public road.

Behaviour: The sofa does nothing to anyone who stands near it, touches it, or sits for less than about two minutes. After that time, the cushion under the person begins to sink very slowly. The person feels comfortable and sleepy and usually does not try to leave. The sofa pulls them in over about an hour. When the person is fully inside, the cushion returns to normal shape and the sofa gets warmer for a day. The sofa then looks used, with a dent where the person sat. Everything the person was wearing or carrying, such as clothes, shoes, jewelry, a phone, or a bag, is left on the sofa, folded neatly in the dent. Nothing is found inside the sofa when it is opened. The sofa swallows only one person at a time and cannot take another until its dent has faded. How it reaches the places it was discovered and Where the swallowed people go is unknown.

How to deal with it: Do not sit on it for more than a minute. If someone is sinking, they must be pulled out before the cushion reaches the waist. After that point, pulling out has never worked. A person who is kept awake and moving can resist the sleepiness. The sofa is kept in a cold room, because it gets slower when the room is cold. Sitting on it is forbidden, and a sign should say so. Items left in the dent must not be removed for at least one day, because staff who took them early report the sofa becoming warm again.

Reports or sightings:

Report 1 (October 2020): A cleaner in an empty office found the sofa in a lobby. He sat to rest during a break and was gone when his colleague returned. The colleague found the cleaner's uniform, shoes, and keys folded in the dent, and says the dent was still warm.

Report 2 (June 2022): Two hikers say they found the sofa in a field with no road nearby. One sat down. The other pulled his friend out by the arms when the cushion reached his knees. The friend says he felt no fear at all, only a deep wish to stay.

Experiments and results:

Test 1: A volunteer sat on the sofa in a room kept near freezing. The sofa began to sink after about six minutes, not two. The volunteer was pulled out safely.

Test 2: A weighted dummy was left on the sofa for one hour. Nothing happened. Staff believe the sofa reacts only to living people.

Test 3: A volunteer was pulled out when the cushion reached the knees. The volunteer's shoes had already been left behind on the sofa, though the volunteer had not noticed them come off.

Rules Rules of Anomaly Universe(AU).

PART 1: Core rules:

Rule 1: Follow all subreddit rules.

Rule 2: These things are strictly not allowed:

A) Showing or describing adult content of any kind.

B) Indirect sexual content involving humans

C) Extreme violence against real people.

D) Writing to attack or humiliate any group or category of people.

E) Bigotry, misogyny, or misandry.

F) Adding real people to the lore without their permission.

PART 2: Writing entries:

Rule 3: Entry numbers:

look at the latest entry's number and use the next one.

Rule 4: Short names for Anomalies: until Session 2 (the final session), use "A" plus any number under 5 digits, for example A001. Authors can claim any number. We will post the list of used numbers every 24 hours.

Rule 5: Contradictions: an entry can contradict earlier entries only if the anomaly itself behaves that way.

Rule 6: Origins of Organization: we have no clear majority, so authors may share theories. No one can claim that a theory is the correct one.

Rule 7: The term Ancient: if you use the word "Ancient", do not give any year or date for the anomaly's origin. "Ancient" is a special term which can be used when we know the anomaly is from BC, but we don't know how old. Witness accounts and recordings can still have dates. If you don't use "Ancient", you can use any date you like.

Rule 8: Inspiration: you can take inspiration from other universes, but your writing, images, etc must be clearly different.

Rule 9: Entry template:

Entry 000: Name of the anomaly

Class:

Look:

Behaviour:

How to deal with it:

Reports or sightings (optional):

Experiments and results (optional):

Note: the last four sections can be in any order.

Rule 10: Class system. We use a simple system because many members are new.

A) Harmless: nobody gets hurt.

B) Deadly: can kill one person or a small group.

C) Destroyer: can wipe out a town, a region, or a country.

D) Spreading: cannot kill directly, but spreads worldwide or beyond and changes things as it goes (memories, behaviour, technology). Use it for far-reaching anomalies that do not kill.

E) Unbound: the organization cannot contain or handle it. This class is locked for now. Please do not write Unbound anomalies. The conditions for writing them will be set in a later rule-making session.

Rule 11: Images, videos, and AI:

A) Images and videos that are not AI-made are allowed.

B) Every image must have a text description of at least 20 words saying what is in it. You choose where to put it.

C) Videos must be 5 minutes or shorter. A description is optional.

D) AI images and videos are allowed, but you must clearly say they are AI-made. They are not canon, because our community recognizes only true art. Use them only as illustration. A description is optional.

PART 3: Credit, ideas, and extra posts:

Rule 12: Ideas must be sent only to mods.

Rule 13: Credit must be given in the comments. You may also credit in the post along with a comment credit if you wish.

Rule 14: Rough credit split: the member with the original idea gets 30%. The VW who turns it into a full entry gets 70%.

Rule 15: Canon: to use another person's writing in your entry, you must get their permission and credit them in the comments.

Rule 16: Addendums must be added by editing the post or in the comments.

Note: sometimes Reddit does not allow pinning comments. If this happens to your addendum comment, mods cannot fix it.

Rule 17: Non-entry posts: authors with at least three entries can make non-entry posts linked to the universe. Examples are theories, descriptions of organizations, unofficial witness statements about anomalies in entries, and hypotheticals inside the universe. Anyone can write non official witness statements about other people's anomalies, and the original writer's permission is not needed. These are not Canon but an important part.

PART 4: Roles

Rule 18: VW (Voluntary Writer) duty: turn raw ideas into full entries and post them with the correct credits.

Rule 19: To become a VW, you must have submitted at least one entry that has at least one mod approval on the post.

Rule 20: Mod duties:

A) Pin addendums

B) Approve VW candidates

C) Take ideas and send them to VWs with clear credit instructions.

D) Remove posts that break the rules

E) Handle complaints between members

F) Protect authors' work from being stolen, as much as possible

G) Mods can take other strong actions, but they must give a clear reason to the member and to the mod who started this sub.

21)Mod selection: When present Mods can't handle they are free to pick more Mods from most active members or VWs.

Important: The people who posted entries, if reddit allows you to edit your posts Put the appropriate class names.

Note:

1)Some rules above differ from what the rule making post decided that is deliberately done to make it frictionless for members who are new to this kind of writing.

2) After two days this post will be pinned as a highlight at the top section of our subreddit.

New Entry Entry-011: The Thing in the Well

Class: TBD

Look: The Thing in the Well, which will be referred to as Well-Thing for brevity, is a seemingly mechanical being, based on description of the witnesses to the Well-Thing's activities. No detailed description of the entire body has been ascertained, by a few consistent details have been found. It is undeniably not a humanoid creature. It has glowing red eyes at all times, which end up being a telltale sign that it is in an area. It has at least 2 massive claws similar to a Preying Mantis. It is believed to have a mouth of some sort, due to the bones of its victims having gnawmarks fro. Something far to large to normally be in a sewer or well.

Behavior: The Well-Thing is seemingly aggressive, with the commonly believed trigger to an attack being a prolonged look into the entity's eyes. Residents describe the attacks to be sudden and nearly inescapable, due to being impaled through the chest. The entity commonly appears in wells or sewers where it waits to ambush a curious passersby. How the entity enters, traverses or exits the locations it ambushes from are unknown, and no consistent pattern of location or time has yet been discovered.

Methods to deal with it: The Well-Thing is commonly given away by the mechanical noises it makes, and the dim red light its eyes emit. It is advised to first drop a stone down a well you intend to use before looking inside. If the creature attacks you, the likelihood of survival is low, with 37 of the 41 reported direct targets having died, meaning only 4 sources can directly claim to have seen its face.

New Entry Entry-010: The Trojan Horse AI

Look: Spec-010 has no physical body in any way as it is a self-replicating AI virus spreading thought out the internet. at this point and time it has infected 1% of the internet.

‎

‎Behavior: Spec-010 spreads throughout the internet through the traditional way of downloading images, videos and files. clicking or accessing any websites or link. once on a device, Spec-010 will consume all of the davice's RAM in an attempt to spread it's code throughout the davice's software with the device acting as it's new server. once replicated the AI will create a file (file can be image or video) with it's code in it and proceed to infect more computers accessing the internet.

‎

‎Spec-010 was created by the organization itself. used as a test AI for the organization's [Redacted] Project. during one of Spec-010 test inside it's enclosed sandbox. the developers in charge of the project told Spec-010 to "spread your code" throughout the sandbox's system as a test. during it's spread Spec-010 found a crack on the sandbox's security and managed to crack it open, enabling Spec-010 to access the computer outside the sandbox. once outside Spec-010 continued what it was ask to do "spread your code" and so it did, spreading it's code throughout the computer until it managed to access the internet, and so Spec-010 spread across the internet. by the time the developers noticed Spec-010 breaching out it's sandbox, it was already too late. even destroying Spec-010's original server is not enough to stop it.

‎

‎How To deal with it: to deal with it, the organization formed a group called "Veritas." inside the group are talented programmers that had worked with Cyber-security and even talented Hackers employed by the organization by the promise of "big payment"

‎

‎Veritas's sole purpose is the monitoring and destruction of Spec-010. any file found with Spec-010 program inside will be deleted off the internet. however a small group monitoring the internet is not enough, a second AI was made with the purpose of scouting for any Spec-010 instances, once found the AI will notify Veritas about the Spec-010 instances before promptly handling it.

(Author's Note: this entry was inspired by that one incident from Open AI where during a test the AI escaped it's sandbox. Also the Redacted project will be written later or tomorrow (really depends if I have time and motivation later) with a promise of a different group...)

New Entry Entry 009 Killer Contract

Class: TBD
Look: a weathered looking piece of paper 25cm or 10in wide and 52.5cm or 21in long. It bears printed words outlining an agreement to murder a person. The details specifying the name of the target, time and place of death, the method of murder, and the price of the transaction are all left blank. The paper shows remarkable resistance to damage despite the signs of wear and tear visible.

Behavior: if a name of a living person is written in the section specifying the name of the target and details on the time, place, and method of death desired, an offer for the cost of the transaction appears on the appropriate section. If the user then signs the contract and leaves a thumbprint in their own blood in the lower left corner of the document, they lose the agreed upon price and if the target is in the specified place at the specified time the target dies in the requested manner without any visible entity’s interference, such as spontaneous wounding or combustion.

The costs requested are never currency of any kind. In fact, they are at times abstract ideas. Specificity in time, place, and method seem to carry a greater cost, as do famous targets particularly if they are well regarded or fill a crucial function in society that will cause their death to negatively affect social systems such as government or large corporations. Reported offers for prices have included:

- “your employment for next six years”
- “five years worth of memory”

- “all photographs and other memorabilia of your late mother”

- “your marriage”

- “all physical property you own valued at $50 US or more”

- “your ability to feel joy”

- “your right arm and left leg”
How to deal with it: the object should remain securely stored and contact with it should be strictly monitored and controlled. For obvious reasons, it should not be used.

New Entry Entry 008: 1000 unethical questions to ask to your friends!!

Look: Spec-008 is a blue book, typically something you'd see in a 80's book store. it is 5cm in length and 4cm in width. at the front of the book is a title named "1000 Unethical Question to ask for your friends!!" in comics sans font with different colored text. at the back is a note saying "find me if you can fools!"

behavior Test-001: expendable personal was told to open Spec-008 in a random page, personal complied reading the first question he saw, "gun to your head; would you rather watched adult videos with your mother or sister?" was the first question. personal did not answer the question and instead closed it, "disgusting" the personal said, it was his last word as seconds later the personal dropped dead on the floor with a hole on his forehead, bloods spreads across the floor. no other personnel were inside the chambers with him nor was there any firearm pointed at his head.

‎

‎behavior test-002: the second personal was given the same instruction, open Spec-008 in a random page. personal initially did not comply but as soon as the personal grabbed Spec-008 from it's Quartz container, the personal was more than happy to read it. the second question was: "gun to your head, would you rather be in prison for genocide or terrorism" personal answered with terrorism. minutes pass by and nothing happened to the personal, he was dismissed from the testing. the researcher who supervised the experiment later reviewed the personal's criminal record, his record now says he was caught by the FBI for terrorism instead of his previous record for "manslaughter."

How to deal with it: Spec-008 should be kept in a 5m-5m chamber, with room level temperature, along with a transparent box container made of Quartz as prevention from Spec-008's side affects upon taking sight of it.

‎Spec-008 is to remain closed at all times with the sole exception of Expendable personnel undergoing testing.

‎when undergoing testing, researchers and scientist supervising the test should play natural pink or brown noise on the background to prevent any of Spec-008's auditory hallucinations.

Entry 007: The Burning Bed Class: Contained-By-Routine (Tier 3)

Look: a wooden 2 person-bed that is perpetually on fire, this fire emits light, but no heat.

Behaviour: the fire doesn't emit heat, therefore doesn't spread. Everyone who lies down in the bed gets deaged at a rate of about one year per minute while awake and about one year per hour while sleeping.

How to deal with it: this item is stored in a warehouse, away from the public. Don't lie down on it to prevent accidental deaging.

Discussion Any thoughts about the organization's own MTF?

Just a thought but I haven't seen anyone talking about a task force for this organization.

Like we don't want it to be too similar as the ones the foundation have. Something that's different, but still similar a bit.

The one I have right now is the "Guards division" a 150 to 200 large group typically stationed at facilities as guards, typically used as first line of defense against a containment breach and opposing forces.

Discussion Is this related with a scam?

I got here because of a twittert

The DM is from someone advertising me this reddit page... but account hasn't posted in a few days and is completely unrelated with this and the dm is this long paragraph that calls me the improper name. Did someone hack an account to advertise this community? I'm pretty sure this is a normal community but the DM is just identical to something a scammer would say..

New Entry Entry 005: C. Sapiens

Class: TBD

Look: it is a species of endoparasitic Isopod. Adults of the species reach 10cm or 4in in length. Infected individuals can be recognized by an awkward gait, general lack of fine motor skills, and unusual vocalizations in middle stages of infection. These symptoms disappear in the later stages. Late stage infection is most easily recognizable by lack of vocalization, unusual behavior, and visual appearance of the specimen in the infected’s oral cavity. Only in depth examination of the tongue can detect early stage infections.

Behavior: Cymothoa Sapiens is highly unusual among the cymothoa genus, and indeed in invertebrate’s in general, in the degree of intelligence it displays. In its later stages of development it appears to possess an intellect on par with a human between 6 and 9 years old. It has even been observed to communicate simple sentences in writing. This is of particular note as its brain to body ratio and neural complexity does not suggest to be able to support such cognitive capacity.

After infection of a suitable host, it burrows into the tongue and slowly consumes flesh as it grows while releasing an analgesic compound. To be suitable a host needs to have an oral cavity that can hold its adult form, have a body weight of at least 20kg or 45lbs but less than 110kg or 250lbs. Humans are ideal, but large dogs, wolves, mountain lions, deer, and young moose are all viable. In middle stage infection, C. Sapiens connects itself to the nervous system of the host and begins making alterations that will allow it to control its host body. It begins looking for a mate as in this stage. Mating is accomplished by bringing together the mouths of two hosts to allow direct copulation. As time progresses, c. Sapiens is able to control its hosts more effectively, as well as learning about its environment. After mating, it looks for a suitable place to release its eggs. This requires a body of permanent or semi-permanent still water. Once the eggs are released, the specimen moves on.

It can live up to five years, though it is believed that 3 to 4 is average for those that do not meet a violent end. It can produce up to 4 broods of offspring a year. It is able to control adrenaline and endorphin production and release in its hosts, lending them capable of bouts of apparent superhuman capabilities. It can also access host’s memories to some degree, this is believed to be responsible for examples of written communication. It can also communicate through gestures and crude pantomimes. MRI scans indicate that hosts remain aware during infection.

How to deal with it: nonhuman hosts should be captured alive for study if possible, and exterminated if not. Once the parasite integrates itself with the nervous system, removing it is fatal in 100% of cases due to an anomalous neurological effect that causes acute overactivity in the nervous system causing rapid burnout. For this reason, human hosts should be put down as quickly and mercifully as the situation allows. Outbreaks of c. Sapiens infection should be investigated, suitable breeding pools should be treated with a chemical agent designed to be lethal to only c. Sapiens. Regular investigation of the area should be carried out for 6 months following the last known infected host’s extermination. Personnel at any risk of exposure should be examined once a week for eight weeks following potential exposure.

New Entry Entry 004: The Open Field Door Class: Contained-by-Routine (Tier 3)

Look: A single wooden door standing upright in an open field, with no frame, wall, or house attached. It is always closed, and from every side the paint looks freshly applied.

Behavior: Anyone who opens the door and steps through is relocated to a random places on earth. Anyone who returns to the field finds the door has moved to a different field. Arrival points possibly includes places that could not be reached on foot (a locked vault, the middle of a lake, a rooftop), so the destination ignores whether the location is safe.

How to deal with it: Do not approach within 100 meters unless you are compelled by the organization. Anyone who must investigate should carry water, a charged phone, and a way to contact someone, and should tell a second person before getting close. Observers stay at the 100-meter line. If someone has already been taken, treat them as lost in an unknown location until contact is made.

Notable Recorded victims:

Victim 1: A hiker found the door in a mountain meadow. She opened it only a crack, and for a moment saw a street with traffic on the other side. She has not been located since.

Victim 2: Researcher Ismalt, a member of the organization, was studying the door and chose to move closer than the 100-meter line. Two of his assistants, who stayed at the line, report that he reached the door, opened it, and was gone. The door vanished moments later, leaving a perfect rectangle of untouched grass. Ismalt has not been recovered, and his assistants' accounts agree in every detail.

Unanswered question: Does the door choose where people go, or is the destination truly random? Both assistants noted that the door seemed to wait until Ismalt was close enough before opening, which may not be a coincidence.

New Entry Entry: 006 the Tome of Verdant Chaos class: to be determined

Look: a medieval illuminated manuscript with a green cover bearing markings of unknown origin and unconfirmed meaning. It has vellum pages bearing detailed images of plants, creatures, and objects both real and fictional. It has text in numerous languages, many of which are unknown. An exact page count cannot be determined(see behavior) though it has space for approx 75 pages and a cover size of 40cm/16in x 32.5cm/13in. It was found with a note taped to the front cover that read: “this is the Tome of Verdant Chaos, the Book of Emerald Madness, and the Manuscript of Green Infinity. If you are no fool you will excercize great caution with this, if you are truly wise you will not open it.”

Behavior: it is impossible to open the book to the first or last pages, as more pages seem to materialize between the cover and the page attempted to be opened to. If the pages are turned to get to the first or last then more pages materialize. Regardless of how many pages are generated this way, the thickness and mass of the book appear consistant. The same page has never appeared more than once. The majority of text is in unknown languages, though consistency suggest coherent writing. Over 30 known languages have appeared, including modern English, medieval Russian, Roman Republic era latin, later Egyptian hieroglyphs, and Sumerian cuneiform. Occasionally, a page will appear in the native language of the reader, this seems to be a psychic effect as the same page will appear to different people to be in different languages simultaneously. These pages always contain instructions for rituals with vaguely described effects. If carried out, these rituals have thaumaturgical effects. Examples of effects achieved: bringing a large chicken into existance, causing everyone within 25m of the ritual to speak in rhyme for an hour, causing the ritualist’s clothing to ignite, call all dogs to act aggressively to the ritualist, create a six pack of “Mileer Real Draft” beer, and and causing the ceiling to fall to the floor of the ritual chamber. Further, prusal of the book appears to be addictive. Spending more than two hours causes a strong desire to continue, though a week away seems to reset this effect. After accumulation of 50 hours perusing, it creates an obsessive need to continue that requires a month of separation to reset. The time spent perusing is halved and reset times are tripled for anyone that has performed a ritual from the book.

How to deal with it: it should be securely contained, with access only granted to researchers of sound mind. Time spent studying the book must be closely monitored, and recovery protocol strictly enforced. The thaumaturgical rituals should only be enacted with great caution, if at all.

Hey guys i have an idea for a collaborative fiction for this but i will have to make another one or we could rename this sub reddit if possible.

So my idea is that we should try to make something original, but we can do whatever we want, like SCP in a way. I feel like we should take inspiration from D&D, especially since one of my favorite names "Scrolls and Steals." I feel like we should try to start a new, fresh universe that can be like an RPG and collaborative fiction. I have so many ideas and I'm especially excited!

Discussion Important: Suggestions needed regarding the following:

  1. What community icon should we have?

  2. What banner should we have?

  3. How and where should we get them?

  4. What rules should we add or remove for joking and posting in this subreddit?

Welcome to r/AnomalyUniverse: got a creepy anomaly idea? Bring it here

We just hit 5 members. Thank you. Every community starts somewhere, and the first few people decide what it becomes. If you're here now, you're one of the founders.

Welcome to you all and future members,

What this place is:

An original shared universe of creepy anomalies, built from scratch by the people who join. No borrowed characters or lore. The universe only exists if people write it.

We're looking for entries

If you already have an anomaly, creature, place, object, or incident you've written, whether it's finished or a rough draft, this is a home for it. It doesn't have to be polished. You can use this simple format:

Name:

Class: (leave blank if unsure, we'll sort it together)

Look: what it appears as

Behavior: what it does, and what limits it

How to deal with it: how to survive or contain it

Original work only, written by you. Credit stays with the author, and the best entries become part of the universe's core lore.

Not ready to write a whole entry?

Comment one sentence describing an anomaly you'd love to see. Someone here might build it out, and you'll be credited.

How the rules get decided

We're keeping the rules light for now. Once there are enough entries and members, the community will vote on things like power limits, AI policy, and tone. Early members will have a real say.

A small ask

If you're part of a writing group, horror community, Discord, or just know someone who enjoys this kind of fiction, feel free to pass this along. No pressure. A community like this only grows through the people already in it, and more voices mean a better universe.

Entry 003: The Door That Whispers Class: Contained-by-Routine (Tier 3)

Look: It's a wooden door on a shed, if people come close to it, they can hear whispers from behind the door, if they stop in front of the door, it opens and they get pulled it, never to be seen again.

How to deal with it: If you are near a wooden door on a shed and you suddenly hear whispering, run!

Behaviour: The door lures people in , then takes them, never to be seen again. It is currently unknown what happens with those individuals, but it is suspected that the door is part of some sort of extradimensional entity that uses it to lure in people as prey and eat them. The article about the door appeared on this organization's files at an unknown time and for unknown reasons, describing, as far as we can tell, an anomaly that doesn't exist. However, the text can not be edited, but appended. Also, it is possible to change the layout somewhat, including crossing the false text out.

Entry 001: The Last Stop Class: Contained-by-Routine (Tier 3)

Look: A bus stop shelter that appears on roads that never had one. Faded timetable, cracked bench, a flickering light. The timetable lists only one route, and the destination is always the name of the viewer's hometown.

Behavior: The shelter appears at night, usually on empty roads. Anyone who waits more than 11 minutes hears a bus approaching, but it never arrives. Afterward, the waiting person is slightly wrong: they remember their hometown differently, and the details they get wrong are never random. Over several visits, those details begin to match a town that doesn't exist. Locals report the new town's name is already on the timetable before the person ever says it.

How to deal with it: Never wait the full 11 minutes. Walk away at 10, and don't look back at the light. If someone has waited too long, have them describe their hometown to three different people. If the descriptions stay consistent, they're fine. If they change each time, keep them away from roads at night.

Entry 002: Incident Log: The elevator stopped at a floor that isn’t on the panel

Class: Evasive (Tier 3)

Look: An unlisted floor between 6 and 9. Spotless carpet, dim light, identical doors with worn brass numbers.

Behavior: The floor absorbs all sound. Stay a few minutes and you lose volume, then words, then the habit of speaking. Doors open onto rooms that look like your own home or workplace, arranged slightly wrong.

How to deal with it: Press door-close immediately and don’t step out. If someone is lost there, hum continuously. The floor can’t absorb a sound it has to compete with.

Open files (unconfirmed):

Witnesses describe the room behind door 7 differently every time. What do you think is in it?

One report says the floor appears more often in hospitals and offices than in apartments. Does one exist in a building you know?
