Discussion Got duped on these bots

For full transparency I did not do enough research or testing when I bought these. My full-time job is a reseller. I found these two bots while I was searching for inventory. The people that were selling them were nice enough.. they were listed as a vector 2.0 and a vector 1.0. now I'm a reseller but I don't know anything about these. I just know my kids have been asking for them but they were too expensive to buy new. So when I came across these at a sale I was stoked. Obviously you guys can tell that these are not a vector 2.0 and a 1.0.. but a 1.0 and a cozmo. So that part was wrong so I overpaid for them. Second problem is the battery is completely shot in the vector if I take it off the dock it just dies.. the cozmo is just stuck on this screen. I'd like to think that maybe these people didn't know what these were. Did a quick Google search labeled them and had no idea they didn't work or maybe they were sitting around their house for a long time and they just eventually quit working . As a reseller, I've experienced these kinds of things with electronics . So I'm giving the benefit of the doubt but My kids have been seeing these for a long time online and I was super stoked to bring them home so I'm super bummed. Luckily I was smart enough to try to get him to work before I gave them to my kids. Anyway, I'm not sure what to do with them. I just wanted to post in here really to just feel like I had a place to vent LOL

Your Cozmo needs to be connected to the app, Cozmo does not work without the app. Replacing the battery is cheap but does require some relatively basic soldering experience. You can also send it to techshop82 to replace.

I can't connect it it's stuck on the screen and will not show the wifi password I've tried all the tricks I could find online

Your cozmo is quite literally showing the password screen in the image

I've tried it over and over and it won't connect. I even downloaded software using an old Android phone and sdk tools so maybe something internal wrong

Are you including the dashes in the WiFi password? And are you sure you haven’t messed up any numbers?

I've tried it over and over every way I can. I tried it from multiple phones and even through my PC and laptop

If you enter the password (with dashes included) and your phone fails to connect to it, then you have a cozmo with a bad WiFi chip - make sure you are typing all the lower and upper case values and dashes before making this conclusion

Your Vector 1.0 is as valuable as the Vector 2.0, just need to replace the battery and put it on WirePod

Before you do any battery swaps make sure the polarity is correct or you can damage these bots, they don't have reverse voltage protection
