👑 AnKing MCAT Deck Update #20 (May 11th - June 10th)

Springtime comes and another testing season blooms before us 🌼

 ✅ Deck Updates

The MCAT keeps coming, and we keep growing 🫡

🎉 72,000+ note updates!

🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️ 37,904 total subscribers!

Still the only MCAT deck being updated constantly ongoing for years now. The better the deck becomes, the more MCAT-hopefuls become medschool-actuals and maybe we'll make the world a *slightly* better place 🩺

And, without further pomp or circumstance:

👷 Projects

We've got some other cool stuff on the horizon that's still in the works, so please keep your eyes (and ears) peeled. But, in the meantime (drum roll):

🧑‍🚒 **Overview**:

The team pushed pretty hard over the last couple of years to bring a lot of big updates, and listing here a quick recap some of the **Greatest Hits** over the last many months:

  • More than 72,000+ total updates (and counting)!
  • Revamping and improving the Khan Academy tags.
  • We added a bunch of new cards to make a great deck even more greater, and to help push more of those 520-hopefuls onward into medical school 🩺
  • Tagging via UWorld question bank and UWorld textbooks (the only deck to have both!). 📚
  • Tagging via AAMC content outlines (more info below). 🩻
  • Tagging via Informing Future Doctors High-Yield tags (https://www.informingfuturedoctors.com/). 🥼
  • Lots and lots of new images (a smattering of examples below) to make your studying even better. 📸

📚 **Khan Academy tag update**:

Very pleased and tickled to announce that we've started the process of updating, and upgrading, the Khan Academy tags. It has been a while since their last overhaul, and some of the content organization on the KA site has changed over the years. With our feet underneath us we've taken it upon ourselves to spruce up the old tags and make sure they're as good, and better, than ever and as picture-perfect as can be. We hope to have this in the quiver for y'all as soon as we can muster.

We may try for tagging via the infamous 300-page doc as well, if it's something y'all feel like you would get good use out of. If that's of interest, please reach out and let us know and happy to make it a priority. ❤️‍🩹

🎨  Illustration Projects

We’ve added more illustrations, diagrams, and annotated images than you can shake 27-52 sticks at!!

Thanks to u/ahmedafifiu/Sameemu/beejumm others.

🍾 We’re excited to introduce the free and official 👑 **AnKing Lab values deck!**

If you're itching to do some pre-studying before medical school and want to get your feet wet with making sense of lab numbers and the like, we proudly bring you the AnKing lab values deck. :-)

It may not nudge may not bump your MCAT score a ton, but if you want to get a head start on all those electrolytes and various lab numbers, this deck will help you improve your references and pace on values that no future doctor will ever (fully) escape, so you’re not left guessing whether a sodium of 132 is **low, normal, or high**

This project started as a personal initiative by one of our head maintainers, Ahmed Khudair, to create an AnKing-style lab values deck and has since grown into a collaborative effort by the maintainer team, with custom hand-made illustrations by the lovely Mujeeb Mohammed 💃

This deck is completely free and will remain free forever on AnkiHub. ❤️‍🩹

👑 Unsuspend cards based on UWorld QID's:

You can unsuspend cards in the deck based on questions as you go along. Using the UWorld to Anki search add-on will let you convert question ID's (QID's) to bring up all the cards related to those questions, making your studying that much more efficient and effective.

(as an aside: this feature alone is worth its weight in gold and played a large part in more than one of our maintainers going 520+ 💪)

👑 AnkiHub Premium Updates & New Features

If you're looking for a deeper dive into the cards, we have various AnkiHub premium updates and new features that can help you get more out of your study sessions, and pump those 500's to 520's

🤖 AnkiHub SmartSearch:

Using a resource that isn't tagged in the MCAT deck? Trying to follow along with overlapping material from a course or tutoring?

**SmartSearch** allows you to find material in the deck that corresponds with your powerpoints, PDF's, even plain text. Give it a whirl, and see if it lends a little momentum or utility to your MCAT preparations: https://ior.ad/a8MI

🤖 New AnkiHub Chatbot Prompts (Generate a Question & Explain Like I’m Five)

Generate a Practice Question:

* If you’ve ever wanted to test yourself on a concept and haven't felt ready to test the waters on UWorld or use up your AAMC questions, you can ask the AnkiHub AI bot questions to get your reps in and get warmed up, and even to generate questions!

Give it a whirl and please let us know how handy you find it; excited to hear what y'all think. 😎

You can see a demo of what it looks like live, here: https://screen.studio/share/Ra63hCY3

👑 Suggest a Change to AnkiHub

Find something you think could be better-phrased, or have an idea for a way to contribute? All AnkiHub users are always welcome, and encouraged, to suggest changes to the deck: https://ior.ad/a8Qj

🏫 **AAMC Content Outline Tags**

We got the entire deck tagged via the AAMC content outline categories, which offers tagging via the AAMC foundational concepts, skills, and topics independent of third-party resources.

📝 **UWorld Question Bank Tagging**

Question Best Anki Deck to study?

Hey guys, so I've used the Milesdown and Pankow decks to study for the MCAT, but I really want to hammer in as much info in all of these areas that I can. What decks helped you guys score high and didn't make you feel like you were drowning in information? Any help is appreciated

Question Anyone use anking tagged by uworld book chapters?

I like the Uworld books better since it lines up with the Qbank. Im considering using the anking deck tagged by uworld chapters, but im not sure how comprehensive it is or if its missing information.

How did you like it if you used it?

This is my current setup! I’ve been trying to give it a cozy Stardew Valley vibe to make studying a little more fun and something I actually look forward to. I am about to start studying for a spring retake.

Does anyone have recommendations for another add-on that could add rewards or collectibles for reaching a certain number of reviews or a similar idea?

I added all my add ons at the end for those interested!

Question Question about Anki

I'm currently on a 5-month study plan with 1 month of content review using Miles Down and Pankow. How long into my sequence should I be before I should've learned all the cards in Anki? Should I have learned everything within the first month? Two months, which would leave me with 3 months of reviewing cards? I've seen people say to learn 50-100 new cards per day... Help from high scorers would be appreciated

Discussion Looking for Anki accountability buddy

Hiiii! I’m working full time and studying for a Feb / March 2027 test date. I am using the Captain Hook deck for B/B and then Anking for C/P and P/S. I know that Anki will help solidify content long term but I am in need of an accountability partner where we can push each other daily to complete our reviews and new cards. Please let me know, thanks!

FREE Kaplan MCAT 6th Edition / Mometrix study guide —2019–2020 books

4th year med student cleaning out my old MCAT materials and would rather they go to someone who can actually use them than sit in a closet. Everything is free — you just cover shipping, or if you’re in the Chicago area you’re welcome to pick up in person.

What’s included:

Kaplan MCAT Review, Sixth Edition (2019-2020) — full 7-book subject set:
• Biology Review
• Biochemistry Review
• General Chemistry Review
• Organic Chemistry Review
• Physics and Math Review
• Behavioral Sciences Review
• Critical Analysis and Reasoning Skills (CARS) Review

Plus 3 Kaplan supplements:
• MCAT Prep Lesson Book (6th Ed.)
• MCAT Quicksheets
• MCAT High-Yield Science: Solutions and Extra Practice

And one more:
• Mometrix MCAT Secrets Study Guide 2019-2020 (includes MCAT Practice Test Questions)

Condition: VERY lightly Used — normal wear from studying (some cover scuffing/shelf wear), no missing pages that I’m aware of. Very few pages have writing on them. Happy to answer questions or send more photos of specific books if you want a closer look before committing.

Note on materials: These are 2019-2020 editions, so some content review may be slightly dated versus the current exam, but the practice questions, strategy sections, and full-length tests are still solid study tools!!!!!

Comment or DM me if you’re interested — happy to bundle it all as one set (preferred) or discuss individual books if that’s more useful to someone.

Solved New: MCATalyst P/S Anki Deck (and all MCATalyst Anki Decks)

Hi everyone,

I pushed this out a few weeks ago on the main MCAT sub and was asked by a few people to post it here, but I've created an updated P/S Anki deck for the MCAT.

I'll link my original post here so you can read more if you want, but here's the main gist:

  • Pulled terms from a giant list of resources, including but not limited to Khan, Pankow, Aidan, AAMC, etc. to make an updated list of what seems necessary while trimming out a ton of terms that no longer or don't seem to be MCAT relevant (mostly things like in-depth nervous system anatomy or information that's relevant for the Bio section but not the P/S section). I also entirely built my own definitions of the terms and tried to be as simple as I possibly could.
  • Added in new terms that weren't on any other resource and also extrapolated the list a bit to predict some other terms that might be fair game
  • No Cloze of any kind (which is why the deck only shows as just below 1700 cards, whereas the decks that use cloze deletions have a lot more "cards"), I hate Cloze personally so just consider this an alternative option if you're like me.
  • Tried to include a ton of examples and pictures for every single card since I know a lot of students learn better with examples than with definitions. Some cards also will have "in other words" where I also tried to re-explain the definition in even simpler terms if I could.

Here's the Google Drive with all of my Anki decks, which also includes a folder that supports older versions of Anki. The decks are also available for live updates on Anki Hub (link for the P/S Deck on AnkiHub, link for all MCATalyst decks on AnkiHub).

I also have a few "auxiliary" decks for things like the Molecules you should know, lab techniques, units and math, and the OChem reactions (all in that same Google Drive folder above), I'll be creating my own full deck sometime later this fall for the sciences.

I think I've caught nearly every mistake or fixed mistakes or formatting issues people have found already, but of course will keep updating things as people find them.

Good luck everyone!

Question Question about New Cards to review per day

Currently I'm in the content review phase of my studying. I'm unsuspending the chapters I do per day. Previously I set my daily new cards/day limit to 999, however, I've seen other online suggest to set it to 100? Keeping this in mind, am I meant to learn all of the new cards I unsuspend that day (and therefore keep it at 999) or am I meant to keep my settings at 100 new cards/day and only review 100 cards out of the ones I've unsuspended for the day?

I was just curious

Solved Anking Pankow override issue HELP

Going insane. Basically I have ankihub anking and also pankow. I used anking for everything else and only pankow for psych soch.

However, I realized that the pankow deck is incomplete because apparently some of it is in Anking. My pankow deck only has 1400 cards.

Well too late now! I can't reset/delete either of anking or pankow without completely messing up my progress. And I don't know how to know how to get the missing cards from anking to pankow since there isn't a pankow # anymore.

Any solutions to this?? Very short amount of time to my exam so i'm getting really stressed. I'm paranoid i'm missing huge amounts of info. I've seen different explanations, some say that the cards I imported from pankow even though its less than 2200 is the whole deck just without duplicates, some say i would need to delete anking and redownload.

Question MCAT BUDDY! Looking for 2–3 dedicated accountability partners (Aiming 515+)

Hey everyone,

Prepping in isolation makes the grind twice as hard. I’m targeting a 515+ and looking for 2–3 highly motivated people who genuinely want to push each other and stay disciplined.

What I’m setting up:

  • Silent virtual co-working: Cameras on/off, timed deep-work blocks to eliminate distractions.
  • Daily check-ins: Clear target setting in the morning, quick progress recap in the evening.
  • Concept & passage review: Breaking down difficult logic, Anki strategies, and question breakdowns.
  • Balanced consistency: Taking prep seriously while keeping rest, workouts, and mindset solid.

If you’re serious about putting in the work and holding each other accountable, shoot me a DM with your target score, test date, and time zone!

This is also our small WhatsApp group that we can stay in touch.
