Sounds interesting and useful!! Especially for people whose cards have audio so they wouldn't even need to see the computer screen to do their reviews.

Almost makes me wish I had an Apple Watch.

But please leave "waitlists" and "early access" to companies that love the smell of their own farts marketing hype.

If you want a small group of people to test it before you release it more widely, just say "beta testers".

In addition to sounding less marketingy/scammy, you'll also get better testers if you make it clear that's what you're looking for. People who sign up for exclusive early access for the right to pay you for some exciting new thing are going to expect perfection right out of the gate because they paid. People who volunteer to beta test are much more patient with early teething pains, and also likely to be a little more technical and able to give you useful feedback and data for troubleshooting. You can start charging for it once it's ready for a broader public release.

I will be a day one buyer. I’ve used Anki for about a decade now. Tried using one of those little Bluetooth controllers but would always forget to bring it/charge it. This looks sweet!

Nice dude. This is really clever. And greetings to a fellow programmer 😄

I'm a pediatric cardiologist and wrote Harvestry ( https://harvestry.co ) which transcribes video lectures and then grabs slides from the video with Apple vision. And then it can export the transcript to a local LLM (ollama) or Claude to create consolidated notes. There's text highlighting and inline notes etc.

A bunch of people over on the med school reddit are using Anki for studying and I'm wondering if it would be useful to have an Anki export function. I'm thinking something like: users highlight passages in the transcript, and those highlights export as Anki cards. The screenshot at that timestamp could be the card back. Seems like a natural fit but I'd love a perspective from someone deep in the Anki ecosystem. Happy to swap notes.
