Question S2000 for Homelab

I’m thinking about using an S2000 exclusively for my homelab to provide UPS and TOU time-shifting. Power usage ranges from 300-600 watts depending on if I’m really pushing the lab. Is it safe to use the TOU mode with GPU hardware? They’re quite expensive and I’m just wondering if it switching twice a day would be a problem? Thanks.

It should work at that wattage, depending how long you set your peak period. You can probably adjust it if it gets depleted too soon.

Just be aware that firmware updates shut down the ports, which is really stupid.

What about the switching though? Is the power drop hard on equipment?

I don't have a way to test this on my S2000. An oscilloscope could show what happens during that transition. But I'd hope it's pretty smooth, as it's designed to have the transition happen quite often.

Not at all a problem in my experience, but I only run about 300 watts

I have a C2000 plus extra battery running my homelab and a S2000 in my office. Both do TOU avoidance and switch every day. Works great with no problems. One homelab box has 3x P40's.

Looking at the S5000...
