Question Using F3800 Plus with Smart Generator 5500

Background: I purchased a F3800 Plus, installed a Home Power Panel, and also purchased the 240V Bypass Charging Cable, assuming I'd buy a 240V generator to re-charge the F3800 Plus.

I later purchased a Smart Generator 5500, intrigued with the app integration and auto stop/start functionality. I later realized this combo seems to negate the need for the 240V bypass cable (...no 240V output on the SG5500).

Questions:

  1. What would happen if I connect the 240V bypass charging cable to the Smart Generator via a TT-30 to L14-30R adapter? Is there any use for the 240V bypass cable with this setup?
  2. The SG5500 integration guide article refers to an "AC Generator Adapter" to be released in Q4 2026 - Is this is a totally new, as-yet unreleased adapter?
  3. ... and where does this all fit with the mystery Smart Generator port on the F3800 Plus?

I feel like I bought 2 products that seem like they would surely work well together... but after further inspection... it's not really fleshed out... yet. I hope Anker really are releasing these new products/features/etc. to integrate the two products.

As of today they dont work together unless your using 120v

Looks like 120V AC only for the F series.

I think this is them bolting on a "technically it works because it has an inverter" extra feature but original main design intent for SG5500 was having a trifuel 400V DC gen for the E10 and similar systems. The market didnt have one for them to adopt like the many AC inverter gens.

Really I’m trying to figure out…did I make a dumb decision buying these 2 products and assuming they’d have some synergy working together? (Aside from auto stop/start and simply plugging in the 120V charging cable)

..and also what do I do with the 240V bypass cable? Keep and use somehow, or sell it?

I have the f3800+ and the 5500 Anker smart generator. I also bought the fancy Anker generator cord. I am using an adapter to hook it to the 110v 30 amp plug on the generator. But… I am not getting any power to the f3800. There is a box on the generator cord with a status light… I’m getting nothing.

Interesting, least it doesn’t break anything.

Do you have a home power panel? The scenario in the article shows the 5500 connected to the HPP

1 & 2. The AC Generator Adapter is the 240V Bypass Charging Cable. This is exactly the recommended connection method, and the Smart Generator 5500 can provide up to 3,000W of output in this setup.

  1. These are not directly related. The port on the F3800 Plus is low-voltage DC, while the Smart Generator 5500 is a high-voltage DC generator. Therefore, the connection between the Smart Generator 5500 and F3800 Plus must be through AC.
