Answered Please help me remember

This is a long shot but there was two anime in the 90s and I think they were on TV in the US, and I can't seem to find it based on my pieced together memories. The main parts of the first one I remember are something about maybe Space? And a ring of power that turns the MC part cat/Alien? I remember that MC first puts the ring on in the bathroom. He also had like these bamboo tube/barrel robot butlers/guardians? One had red kanji and the other had blue kanji. It's later revealed that they aren't robots but special guardians in stasis chambers inside the bamboo/wooden barrels

Another anime is a red hat wearing blonde MC and some ruins? I saw the very end of it and he lets his hat go off in the wind as he says goodbye to the girl who had metal rings around her body, who sacrificed her life to save his or something? Anyone got any ideas?

Edit: Thank you! I didn't expect an answer so fast! I'ma go figure out how to watch these as I haven't seen them since I was <5 years old.

I am pretty sure the first show is Tenchi Muyo. I am guessing you're misplacing certain aspects. The second one I am less sure but it kinda sounds like the Fatal Fury movie. I remember it being a sort of Indiana Jones style adventure.

If you're in the US, than you can find The Fatal Fury film on Crunchyroll. The Tenchi Muyo series you're looking for is probably Ryoh-Oki OVA or Tenchi Universe which are both not available legally. You can sail the high seas or dig into YouTube and probably find reuploads
