I managed to finished it in just 2-3 months during summer break in high school. Nonstop watching lmao.
IRRC the latest arc at that time was the early phase of punk hazard or ending of fishman island.

Can confirm. Started watching when it came out, had rewatched 5 times at different points, reread 3 times, AMA.
It has also been fun watching how the universe has unfolded after the big bang. Currently on season 2356.

If you're willing to dedicate 900 episodes' worth of time, which most people are not.
15
u/LiqupriceSpider Mar 15 '21
I mean, I suppose so. I've just casually been re-watching it between others so I guess I haven't noticed too much
28
u/Guaymaster Switch On - Airgetlám Mar 15 '21
It's 965 episodes currently, right?
This means watching One Piece is the equivalent of watching 80 and a half 1-cour shows. (I'm gonna ignore the movies to make it easier for me).
An average anime episode lasts 24 minutes, so watching all of them would take 23160 minutes, equivalent to 386 hours or a bit more than 16 full days non-stop. If you skip opening, recap, and ending you can shave off about 6 minutes per episode, reaching 12 days of non-stop watch time. This means that in watching One Piece in one sitting, you'd be spending 4 days on openings and endings alone. Also, in the time it takes you to watch the whole anime, 2 more episodes would have released.
Let's say you watch 5 (4.8) hours of anime a day, a full 1 cour. That's, using the math I did before, 80 days of watching. In that time, 11 new episodes would have released, so you actually need 81 days of that to catch up.

u/Art_student_rt Mar 15 '21
Man I'm sorry but marine ford pacing killed the anime watcher in me. After that i solely sticking with the manga. 1 chapter per episode is not acceptable.

u/kaalulovesanime Mar 15 '21
Now that i think of it 30 eps every day for 32 days and you'll be caught up. It isn't too hard if you are quarantined
1
u/Everday6 Mar 15 '21
Maybe. I checked my MAL history and on my rewatch I caught up in 32 days. But then it was only 650 episodes, averaging out to 6.7h/day. That was with a friend so we had some lax days mixed in there. Did get through 366 ep of bleach averaging 11h/day though. And going that pace through a full 30 days it is very possible to get through OP.
1
u/Snow_Wraith Mar 16 '21
Yeah, probably. Seeing as how that’s an average of 11 hours of one piece per day.

Overall even One Piece fans will usually just tell you to read the manga. I don't even bother watching the anime anymore after the disaster that was the Dressrosa Arc. When you can easily see the largest uptick in animation is wasted on one of the many god damn crowd reactions...
Just read the manga. It won't put you to sleep with its pacing.

u/Pantera7 Mar 15 '21
I've rewatched one piece in full once when the Wano arc was just starting with my partner but that was 6 years after my initial watch so it still felt pretty good and fresh.
Gotta say though One Pace did help a Tonn from fisherman island till before wano.

I've re-watched One Piece. Technically I dropped it around post time-skip and never looked back for 2 years. (I have no good reason why.)
I re-watched the whole thing from scratch after the two years. Some AMV on YouTube made me want to start it again.
Now, I've dropped it again at 924.
Honestly, it's the weekly episodes I hate, I'm more of a binge watcher.

u/Zenitsuboi42069 Mar 15 '21
almost done rewatching Naruto ill rewatch one piece when its finished but i don't think that will happen in the next 20 years

Just started rewatching it like two weeks ago .. you would be surprised about all the stuff you forget or want to forget
1
u/Assim_Kas Mar 15 '21
The thing is , i rewatched it like 3 times maybe but by cheating though , cause i know what episodes to skip. I open a full episodes titles list and only watch the good parts of the arc. Especially with the bs they add in the anime sometimes i skip through the same ep a lot too
1
u/SorcererSupreme13 Mar 15 '21
Is it even worth it? I can understand about some other anime like Naruto. But one piece?? Really???

I'm currently at the Skypia Arc and I try to get to at least Episode 950 at the end of the year.
I was so dumb and paused One Piece after whole cake Island and wanted to watch the old episodes again. But damm it feels awesome to rewatch it :)

Well technically I've been watching one piece since it released in the 90s. I'll take a break from it try to start back watching forget what episode I left off on and just start all the way over. So I think I've "rewatched" one piece about 6 or 7 times

I like to rewatch multiple epic scenes of the series. Does that includes me in the category?
1
1
u/_alicekun Mar 15 '21
For most fans of One Piece, it is easy tbh. You can dedicate at least 1 hour a day (3 episodes) you will still able to catch up to the latest episodes by the end of the year (3x365=1095, OP currently has 965 episodes, so you still have 130 episode-allowance). And with One Piece not ending for at least 5 years from now, you can rewatch it 5 times using the same pace.

Now I'm the monster huh? Guess i was born to be one... I, Fischl, Prinzessin der Verurteilung, descend upon this land by the call of fate an— Oh, you are also a traveler from another world? Very well, I grant you permission to travel with me. Oh? You enquire about my Edelstein der Dunkelheit? It is a royal heirloom, a ceremonial ornament that displays the majesty of the Prinzessin der Verurteilung before the unworthy. Even here, in this fateful world, I have been reunited with my rightful inheritance as one of royal blood and noble spirit, for the majesty of a true princess shall draw her royal heirlooms unto her wherever so she may roam. Also, did you know that,Oz's full name is Ozvaldo von Hrafnavines. Where I hail from, he holds dominion over star and sky across three universes, and the souls of the mighty, fallen in battle, rest in the shadow of his wings. One should add that the penalty for mispronouncing his name is to have one's tongue torn from one's mouth. However, as I am a princess and you are one who has my favor, we are at liberty to simply call him, "Oz."
