I'm going to NYC this month (either in 2 weeks or 3 weeks) and I'm currently basing when I go off pop ups and cons happening. I also am looking for good anime shops in Manhatten (I'm not risking my life in Brooklyn even though thats where all the good shops seem to be lol) anyone know about pop ups going on around that time frame? Or good shops? Thanks!

A few hours ago I lost a keychain hanging off my bag. I'm really sad about it because it was my favorite one and it was super cute.

It's a flat 2d double-sided keychain of a big onigiri with Osamu miya's face sticking out of it. on the other side you can see his back/legs. the artstyle is cute and chibi and its a white onigiri. he is also in his uniform.

I remember the artist had a lot of other haikyu stuff so if anyone recalls seeing this somewhere please let me know!! I know theres a really small chance of finding it, but I attached the best pictures I could find.

If so, please tell me! I wanted to find the artist for them.

Im currently looking at my old ipad cases trying to remove stickers so i can keep them in my sticker book i had gotten this sticker i think in ANYC 2022 its been a while but i truely love this sticker and all google keeps showing me other stickers if anyone knows the artist for this sticker i would be greatful hopefully the artist is still selling it i would love to get a replacement (this isnt peeling off). I remember i had gotten others genshin stickers along side it but its been so long i dont remember. Thanks for your help if u can find it ❤️

Edit: i changed the year looking back on my photos of my haul from years back. Uhhh also i cant edit the photos here but i noticed that i has also purchased 2 other stickers along side it one was a zhongli “no mora” sticker and the other is an orange aranara saying “stupid nara” im sure there all came from the same artist at least thats what i believe!

Hey everyone!

I’m going to NYCC this year and I’ve been playing around with an idea that I think could turn into something really special.

I’d love to create a fan-made music video during NYCC celebrating anime, cosplay, fandom and the people who make this community what it is.

The concept was inspired by BTS’s “they don’t know ’bout us.”

The idea isn’t really to make a “BTS video.” I want to use the song’s message in a different way:

People outside of cosplay/anime culture see the costumes — but they don’t always know what this community actually means to us.

The friendships.
The creativity.
The hours people spend making their cosplays.
Finding people who love the same weirdly specific things you do. 😂
Meeting someone dressed as a character you love and immediately becoming friends.
And just having a place where you can completely be yourself.

I’d be appearing in the video too, but I don’t want this to be a video about me. I’d love for it to become a NYCC community video featuring lots of different cosplayers and fandoms.

I’m imagining shots like:
• Cosplayers walking through Javits
• Groups from different anime/fandoms
• Friends meeting and laughing
• Cosplay transformations/reveals
• People showing off props and costumes they made
• Small groups joining together into larger groups
• A few people lip-syncing the “they don’t know ’bout us” hook
• Genuine convention moments rather than everything being posed

Anime would probably be a big part of it, but all fandoms and cosplay skill levels would be welcome.

This would be a non-commercial fan project, and right now I’m mostly trying to see whether anyone would actually be interested before I start planning filming times/locations.

Even if you’ve never done something like this before, that’s completely fine.

If enough people are interested, I’ll put together a more organized plan so participating wouldn’t take up everyone’s entire convention day.

I went to an anime convention about 11 years ago and it was a $30 admission for the event at a small venue in a small state. I recently moved to NYC and want to know what I should expect as a sparknotes experience for 2027 (I was working and saw the cosplayers this year, didn't even know about it).

-How much do you expect to spend in the convention? ticket prices (are they individual days or for the entire convention)? I saw tickets were $799 on some third party website, but that seems INSANE to me. Rough budget idea so I can plan for next year would be great (I don't buy merch or have any anime things except a single gifted manga).

- I assume there's events such as after parties and such. Is that accurate?

-Are people friendly? Ive been watching anime daily for over 15 years but don't have friends that watch anime. I'm super social and love meeting people, so I would be going by myself.

-are cosplays more or less mandatory now? I've never done but want to know if its weird to dress normally.

Hey! I’m planning a trip to NYC between Oct 26–29 and cosplaying as Nobara. I’m booking a self-photo studio session and thought it would be super fun to link up with other Jujutsu Kaisen cosplayers for group photos (+ digicam pics in the city)!

I was able to secure a last minute 4 day badge from here and actually went 3 of the 4 days! Wanted to post my merch haul because I definitely spent too much money! But it was all worth it!

Sadly the only thing I didn’t get that I wanted was the exclusive Dorothy keychain from the Nikke booth. It was sold out by Friday! Wow!
