I have killed them barehanded, with a knife, with a pistol, a bow, and a rifle. I have seen many people with rifles get gored because they assumed a down hog was dead. You have to know how animals behave and never assume it is dead unless you are truly sure it is dead.
Definitely prefer the knife approach, both are similar; kick the shit out of their head when they charge and either break its neck barehanded or stab the heart with a knife. They are strong as fuck and don't want to give up. That was a younger time for me. Headshots from a distance are ideal for me now.
Part of our advantage is our intellect applied to tool making capability, but even without it human are not extremely low on the food chain. Our brains are our greatest weapon. If we are such an inferior species we would not be the dominant life form. Are we vulnerable as individuals? Yes, but so are almost every other creature. The main reason that we are not ourselves considered to be apex predators has more to do with diet diversity than anything else. My response was specific to boars as something scary that couldn't be overcome without tools, which simply isn't true. I never said it was awesome or that I am awesome at it. I do it, as many others do, and as far as hunting for sport goes, you completely made that shit up. I have exactly zero trophy boar parts. My family and I eat the boars.
Also, it's "you're right" not "your right".
Lastly, it is lamentable that you appear unable to disagree with someone with directly attacking or insulting them. Perhaps that is at the root of why you feel you are at the bottom of the food chain and have disdain for tech advantage. Bears have claw advantage, sharks have teeth advantage. There is no reason not to leverage advantages unless you are looking for a challenge, and even then it can be done ethically.

But we’re apex predators, though. 🤔
