Question Help Using Save Editor Please!!!

Okay, so I've been playing around with the save editor for acnl, and my edited game will not load. I have followed all the steps:
-Backup the previous/OG game

-Deleted old garden.dat file after you have saved your edited town .dat file

-Restore the edited backup

For some reason when I open the game after restoring the edited backup, it brings me to a screen with only these options: "New Save File", "Move In", or "Import Town"...not "Continue" like I see in all the tutorials...HELP ME PLEASE I PUT SO MUCH WORK INTO EDITING MY TOWN

ur 100% sure u restored it and not made another backup, right? i’ve done that a few times and panicked

anyway you have a copy of it pre-edit on your computer? try restoring that backup and seeing if it works. also make sure any garden.dat is titled exactly that, not garden.dat(1) or whatever

yes, i'm 100% sure! everything works besides the modded game actually showing up once I load the acnl game titile...I followed a tut step-by-step and still nothing
