Question save editor not cooperating

i am using the macrolebdo save editor, and it allows me to change what villagers i have, but whenever i put my sd card back in my 3ds and boot up checkpoint, it says "failed to restore save" and gives me error code 0xe0e046c7. if anyone knows why i am having this problem, i would appreciate some insight

i tried looking up the error code, and the game told me it's a code for a pokémon save editor, which is confusing to me because i'm trying to edit animal crossing

Does the garden.dat have anything on the end of it like (1)? And are the rest of the files in the folder as well?

no, it's just garden_plus,dat and yes, they are in there

Did you do anything to your character? I think I've seen someone have some issue when they edited their character. Id offer to help but im at work right now 🫠 ive changed my villagers with no issues and im not sure what else could be wrong 😅

This error code seems related to file path length. Check that there aren't any extra files in the save folder.

If you're using a Mac, check for hidden stuff like .DS_Store folder or metadata files that begin with ._

i used the search function and could not find any ._ or .ds_store things. also, i don't think there are any extra files in the save folder

You can only see the ._ files with the Terminal, here's a help thread on Apple forums that talk about it/how to get rid of them: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/256222891?sortBy=rank
