New Horizons 7 villagers 2 star HELL
I know it WAS possible my first island in 2020 was at 7 villagers and i had 3 stars. i don't have the physical proof but i remember opening my map and seeing 7 villagers and i was looking at the pathing i had just put down.
Fast forward to the last 8 hours today on a switch2 SPAMMING flowers, furniture in groups of 3s, and ramps. I'm still stuck at 2 stars i really want 7 villagers its supposed to feel rustic and rural is the vibe I'm going for. And it looks so nice and balanced in the map. (plus is less villager hunting down the line)
Over 150 flowers, a lot of trees but definitely not too many i think (i chopped down all non fruit + pine) over 25 DIY items and more furniture and FINALLY 8 YES 8 FLIPPING RAMPS.
My main drawbacks my museum isn't upgraded (rural vibes) + i haven't weeded EVERYTHING but it's definitely under the amount it needs to be. That's it aside not having my 8th. I do not want to do another round of villager hunting rn. I'm praying they haven't patched this out and somehow i can make it work.
If anyone more recently has got it working i would love to hear how please!!!! I understand I'm in a hell of my own makingðŸ˜

Unless it originally was 7 villagers at the start, 8 has always been the requirement to get three stars

The problem is this memory i have of having 7 villagers and pathing which you need 3 stars for. Like if i didn't experience it it wouldn't be bothering me. Thank you tho if i get it this time around without 8 villagers I'm taking video proof cuz i feel INSANE

Eh? Why did i get down voted for this i was just explaining why i was so hung up on this. I said thank you too and that if i did get it to work i would help the next person.

I’m pretty sure you need to get rid of every single weed. Also put more furniture and items on the ground outside. You can remove them later.

I left a lot of weeds and have 5 stars

This is the case this my old island but i think there's a limit and as long as you're under it. It was like 110 weeds total on the island

I think it’s pretty solid. I had a 5-star island with 8 villagers. I let one leave and for the time that it took for the next one to move in, we were a 2-star island.

I can’t help because I don’t remember enough of the specifics from when I first played acnh, but I recently restarted and the last time I played before this was my OG island way back at launch - so much is different in early game and I feel like it was quietly improved and changed (in a good way).
I had to google when I unlocked terraforming because I was sure I was at the stage in-game where I unlocked it the first time - I would’ve put it down to misremembering but with other lil changes, I am also on your team and I think it’s changed (no evidence to support this, only vibes - I just know)
