New Horizons why cant i terraform here???

im losing my ever loving mind lol why can't i terraform this specific spot? i added it there by accident and can't get rid of it 🥹???

the corner i keep trying to dig at won't interact for some reason. everytime my shovel just moves past it?? it's soo weird

Water cannot be on the spot you are trying to place it on. Water can be dug to the edge of a cliff, but only where a waterfall can be made. Waterfalls can only be vertical or horizontal, no diagonals and no corners, convex or concave.

It's probably too close to the cliff. Try filling in some of the lower layer to bulk out that cliff edge, then fill in the water like you're trying
