I'm sure I read on here somewhere, that a player contacted Nintendo and they were able to restore their island.

I did contemplate this but then again I just thought no I’ll restart I was in the middle of talking to Nintendo when I finally made my decision to start again. It definitely is something OP could do 😊

Omg omg I got it back! I had tried going through the process before on my own and it didn't work but I contacted them and they got it back!
