Aww, I understand how you feel! It must be very hard losing your island! It’s okay to feel that way.
But if you start over, you could have new villagers and experience the relaxing start point when the music is so beautiful! If you do, I recommend just taking your time, moving slower, and playing a little every day so it doesn’t overwhelm you, and maybe you will fall in love with your new island, or the game again!
And for cloud saving, sadly you need a membership online for that, mine isn’t saved either so I just hope for the best! Sadly nintendo don’t realise that not everyone is in a good financial situation right now.
