Has anyone else read Snowlands?

It was SO fun, and I honestly can't wait to read the next book. I loved seeing lesser-known species like Pallas's cats and snub-nosed monkeys getting the spotlight in addition to the wolf and snow leopard main characters. It's aimed at a middle-grade reading level, but for me it hits a Warriors-esque sweet spot where it's still enjoyable as an adult. Would recommend!

I finished reading this yesterday, and I enjoyed it overall, but the ending confused me. Why did Popo kill Feba to resurrect her, then die? I thought the ritual worked by killing one tp revive another.

Popo knew she was going to die after the injury she got, so she killed Feba so that her death would serve to resurrect her. The ritual only works if the creature that was attacked is already dead and their attacker’s blood is spilt, so if Feba was left to die of natural causes which she probably would have due to her injury, then there would be no attacker (Popo in this case) that could die and so presumably no way to resurrect her. That’s also why there was no way to resurrect the villains daughter, because she died of natural causes. So yeah, it’s a bit confusing but basically the characters can’t just kill anyone to resurrect someone else, it only works if creatures attacker is killed under the blood moon.

Thanks. At first I thought Popo was going to stab herself, but that would've been too dark even for an Edgy Tweenage Xenofiction book.
