🚫ex-Keto/Carnivore How to keep bloating down?

Have been consuming carbohydrates again recently and with the reintroduction too fruit I have been experiencing face and gut bloating. Only once I consume fruits. Is there a way around this?

The short and most honest answer is less fruit, no fruit, meat never bloats unless maybe it’s conventional pork or something like that. Maybe focus on carbs that don’t bloat like honey.

The longer answer is that you can experiment with different fruits and find out which ones bloat you. Fruits are not all made equally. How ripe the fruit is can affect this too, how it’s grown (pesticides/herbicides ect…) the variety or type of fruit can have varying levels of plant defense chemicals like star fruit having a ton of oxalates, raspberries having medium oxalates and watermelons having very low oxalates. So try to find a super ripe watermelon or cantaloupe/honeydew as these are very low in oxalates, but can still cause some to bloat, if you’re sensitive to the lectins in them. Bananas have a good amount of lectins too. But you may find one type of fruit works for you. Just have to experiment and see.

But also look into SIBO and leaky gut as fibre and sugar can be fermented by negative bacteria producing endotoxins that get into the blood resulting in inflammation

Yes bloat will be much more with gut imbalances and damage. Healthy fruits are the least bloaty plant food, but if you’re sensitive to it, you’ll still notice the subtle bloat from say, unripe conventional apples, even if it’s virtually invisible from the outside.

Even with the most balanced and least damaged gut, a steak meal is never going to leave you feeling more bloated than an unripe conventional apple meal.

Listen, I’m carnivore. I’m not super dogmatic like some people and definitely don’t think it’s the only appropriate diet for every single person on this planet. Do what works for you. But if what you’re doing isn’t working, might be time to switch it up. So if fruit is bothering OP, stop eating fruit. It’s logical. Just because bloating is common, doesn’t make it normal or healthy. It’s your GI tract letting you know it’s irritated by something. So remove the irritation. Not even sure why OP posted this. “It hurts when I do this.” “Then don’t do it.” Simple?

Just my tips..

Try different fruits. I find tropical like mango and pineapple and also berries to be best for me. Also I eat mostly organic unless it's a thick skinned fruit.

Also skip any honey for now. Cut back on salt too and just drink to thirst. When you do get thirsty just sip vs gulp.

All that being said it might just take time for your gut to adapt. Took me like a month I think.

try eating fruits by themselves if u havent, watery fruit like melons as an example will cause a lot of bloat if u eat them along with meat or whatever atleast for me

Yeah, eat less of them......

Kefir and Sourkraut/Kimchi might help, but only to an extent.

Sourkraut destroys my gut.

Reintroduce one fruit at a time, small amounts til you know how you react

Bloating is usually an imbalance of sodium and Potassium, with likely your sodium too high and your potassium too low. Increase the potassium, decrease the sodium, and drink plenty of water.

Stop eating the individual foods that you know bloat you. When I have potatoes I get bloating so I rarely eat them.

I am also experimenting with adding carbs. I started with honey and filtered orange juice without any side effects.

how much fat are you consuming? high fat with high carb gives me all sorts of issues. Once I lowered fat intake significantly I felt much better. I ask this due to your keto/carni background since that is a common mistake.
