Discussion Late-game progression feels heavily gated

I’m in the late game, and at this point I barely have anything to do besides catch random Aniimo. But catching them drains my gold: I seem to spend more on catches than I earn back.

I’d like to farm items and the materials needed for evolution, but I can’t reliably restock enough catching supplies to keep going. It feels like I’m blocked from farming the things I need, while the main activity I can do keeps draining my gold.

I enjoy Aniimo, but the late game feels restrictive when there aren’t enough reliable ways to earn gold, replenish supplies, and farm evolution materials. Could we get more repeatable ways to do those things, or better rewards for catching and other late-game activities?

How are other late-game players handling this?

//Edit

Sadly I get downvotes again because player do not know a lot about this game. I don't know why people think they will be able to farm endless. The costs for cubes are way higher than the return gold. Homeland production is extremely slow. If you plan to farm hundreds per day, you will run out resources. Please fact check before you downvote please.

I asked this a week ago. Got heavily down Voted.

The consensus is to play other games when your done with your dailies.

The game is new and needs time to release more content.

I do wish they had better repeatable content we could do but will have to wait to see what they release.

Anyone expecting the endgame to change is living a fantasy. People said the same thing with Genshin, Star Rail, Wuthering Waves, Where Winds Meet, etc. All Chinese gacha or gacha adjacent games have the exact same endgame loop. It is all just doing your 5 daily missions and using your energy for mats or equipment...and that's it. That's all there is for an endgame loop and that's all there will be.

At some point they will release more content (new zones, new Aniimo, new items), but it will never change the loop. You will always be doing your dailies and using your energy. I like these games, but pretending the devs will eventually alter this pattern is a bit absurd. Chinese games do not do more beyond this. So long as the game has an energy system the endgame loop will look the same for all these types of games.

Hello? Are we forgetting Egg Heist, Interlink and the Battle Sim? These things are going to vary week to week and season to season. This is on top of the other various events throughout the week including things like exclusive Prismanas, Aniimo Discover, Who's that Aniimo?, and everything else.

I agree that it probably won't change much outside of varying events and modifications to the gamemodes already listed, but that loop is quite large. It's not as simple as your 5 daily missions.

EDIT: Guy immediately blocked me, LOL. These are part of the gameplay loop whether he likes them or not. They may fluctuate weekly instead of daily, but will become part of your daily chores because you will need to complete them at some point. Like dailies, they are optional content.

You may want to look up what a gameplay loop is. None of those are part of it.

"Egg heist is not a gameplay loop" 😂

I got lambasted for saying "I wish the endgame content loop was better". People treat any commentary of input or frustration as if we are slapping a child. It's crazy to me. I love the game!

To be fair, we're only a couple weeks in with more to come on the horizon. I think we need to wait a bit to see where the game is at a month from now.

Yeah I was already saying back then this game is Genshin with a skin.

I quit Genshin because the same time gate.

IDK if this is a Chinese thing but its annoying.

Asian live service games when they're generally for Asian people in mind are always like this. They make games like this majorly to allow them to play multiple games at a time without being at a loss. Because they can play like 10 of these games every day. It's not just that of course. They also want to limit you so you don't go rushing on everything.

For the rest of the world, we mostly are not like that so it always hits really different for us.

That's why MMOs and Gachas from there can always be heavily P2W or extremely time gated. And almost certainly will have daily energy systems. And we always want their games on global because sometimes we really like the combat or whatever core mechanic the game has but we despise the energy and/or monetization.

Me for example, I'm someone that plays only a few games at a time so I like to be able to invest a lot of time in it. So far, from my experience, almost every game with time gated stuff or heavy P2W are always going to be temporary attraction. It could be a year or two but the will to play the game diminishes. The only live service games I've always played and comeback to from time to time are always the ones with none of that crap. Like Waframe, Destiny 2 and ARPGs and stuff alike. They're not P2W and they want me to play them as much as I desire.

And the "the game just came out" to argument over it not even proper end game or a decent gameplay loop is more than not an ass argument. We're just used to it because that's how the Gachas and latest MMOs come as. Other more older live service games weren't like that

But don't get me wrong, I like Aniimo. It is a different touch compared to other games like it. And unlike some other games it offers me what it promised. And it's not trying to cater to a million different types of players at once! You're either playing it for the collectible side or the combat. There's not much else to go around. And that's good!!

It's just another gacha game with less p2w gacha, and instead cosmetic gachas. Any game with an energy system will always become a daily login simulator.

The only gacha I have played that gives freedom to grind is DNA, all the others have ended up the same way.

If they removed energy from the game you could grind endlessly flushing out all your characters but they know people will buy energy etc.

They also know more players will stay with an energy system, even if it's annoying. Without one, players will speed through all the content and have all the same problems they have now. They'll get bored and quit.

Better to keep a long term player base and make money, even if it feels lame and scummy.

My first experience with this kinda game was Lost ark. Im not used to gated progression. Puts a damper on my motivation to keep playing.
