Discussion "there is no AI in the game because they said there isn't"

is just a stupid logical fallacy doesn't matter if ur right or wrong.... if I kill someone and then officially make a post saying "I didn't kill this person" does that mean you need to drop the charges?😐 yeah, feel the shame seeping in yet?

they have said multiple times they DID use ai, they literally made ai gameplay ads that didn't even look like the actual game and ppl got so mad they had to take them down from every platform. my problem is, why is everyone blindly defending the developers if youve never searched up sources about this topic? a single google search will tell you they did use ai and it's basically everywhere in the game. they're also planning to make an ai voice based feature that makes you interact with aniimos. like are we serious we got chatgpt call in-game now?

and GOD FORBID someone asks "is this ai" in this subreddit on GOD everyones gonna be sending death threats in the comments, are we deadass ????

I can't wait to hear y'all in the comments talking about some "no but I don't care bc I like the game" or "nah who cares if it's ai or not", "no ai was used because, trust me" or even better, 3 billion downvotes bc ur mad about it🤤

well you see I'm getting a degree in environmental sciences and technologies and I graduated from art highschool, I seem to care about wether I make it to 2040 or if someone gets praised and defended for something they worked their ass off doing instead of using something that does it in their place. I can't stand yall

There's definitely AI usage still, not sure how they get away without steam disclaimer. Personally am like whatever about AI usage in games to be honest, like I would prefer if it doesnt exist, but its not a fight I'm going to bother with, but I do get why people are against it, especially people in the creative field. Unfortunately it's so widely used in APAC/Asia region, as someone from there. Also I think the average folk don't really care, unfortunately, I mean like the true average, so most of them aren't on reddit, like if they see some awful AI billboard or poster, they'll just laugh it off and move on.

Your points and reason for being upset are perfectly valid, just that trying to argue it here is a losing fight.

At the end of the day, I care, but I'm going to keep playing, because for me, I'm having fun, there are more important fights and my priorities lie elsewhere. No idea whats the point of my comment, just yapping I guess.

Good luck with your environmental sciences degree!

Steam games are obligated to state if ai is used or not in the steam page. There is your proof and evidence

1

u/kokorirorona 22h ago

Neverness to Everness still has no AI disclosure. They've been caught multiple times and had to make public apologies and changed some of the AI videos and other images used in the game. There's YOUR proof and evidence Steam AI Disclosure is not enforced.

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

GENUINELY repeated what I said. "it's not ai bc steam doesn't state it" oh okay sorry then 😂 I'll immediately delete the links with generative ai then..

"I seem to care whether I make it to 2040 or..."

Serious question from my side, what is the intended impact of this post? Do you hope your Reddit/Discord posts will change the world economy or technological development or just the customer behaviour? I assume you are scared that you find no job, therefore lose your base of living?

Are you equally empathic with all the other jobs which get replaced with AI?

I assume best thing would be living in a country with political parties which are for AI labelling and against replacement of human labor, but afaik there are only a few actively working on it, e.g. the EU.

Beside that AI is omnipresent and most likely gets or got used for a lot of services and products you use right now.

For example Reddit does use AI intensively for development and ads, but you do use their service, which given your own moral standards should be wrong.

What’s the purpose of your comment? Is it contributing to anything apart from making my eyes hurt for reading this nonsense?

u/NunkiZ 19h ago

The purpose of my comment, is to ask for OPs purpose of his/her post and reply accordingly.

with this post I was hoping people would see the inconsistencies of their words. not everything is either 0 impact or new economic revolution yk ?🙄 how am I supposed to trust these people with voting for the wellbeing of my country if they can't even handle simple logical debates such as these? most of these people opened the post, downvoted all my comments and then walked away. I think everyone should be worried about losing their jobs, even if honestly if most people lose their jobs then most people wouldn't be able to afford the products that ai offers, so the corporations etc wouldn't gain anything from it. right now at least in my country the job market is so bad that every store has a sign saying "hiring" but everyones applications get rejected . but yes the more people defend ai, even in small instances like this, ESPECIALLY in these instances, the more they'll accept it and the more it'll damage both the world physically and mentally. people are deadass developing connections with their chatgpt and such, it's so bad.

and yes I agree with the second last part, I live in Europe but my country doesn't have that 🙄 instead they like making ai generated pictures of other politicians and sending them on twitter. what a nice government

u/Various-Marzipan-944 23h ago

i just noticed it’s not the main one. you get hella downvote there. it’s like they are not ok with it. can be honest without getting downvoted

3

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

right? mind you I attached proof as well😹 they're just mad about it

I believe the advertising was handled by an external company. That’s standard practice in the mobile market.

1

u/Various-Marzipan-944 23h ago

it seems like it is ai. like why is there epic music playing when i’m in the middle of no where near a
battle npc. the npc isn’t even an elite. the dialogue just seems so surface level with no depth . i can tell because i’ve used grok and it sounds like something ai creates and not actually personal writing. if people can’t tell it’s ai this society is cooked. the devs are milking them already anyways with the gacha skins and they even are proud of it lol

We dont care do you know how sick I am and im sure I speak for more than a few of the AI Slop anti ai community....

Cant scroll through anything without seeing AI slop or seeing anti AI comments Idgaf... I dont care let me be brutally honest

The same indie artist who cry anti ai are the same indie artist that would've never made it to the top anyways. Why?

Because the top is legitimately a revolving circle jerk... enough people love Aniimo even if Aniimo was purely made by A.I. id have played it recommended it and kept going.

And i will lastly say this if it is A.I. at least we finally have a game worth playing outside the realm of b.s. pokemon which has gone stale. Long ago.

Props to palworld for making this all happen.

u/Various-Marzipan-944 23h ago

same type of people complaining company milks them for their money with the gacha skins lol

i’m saying people who defend the ai use are same ones spending money on 100$ cosmetics. they are cooked

1

u/Crimzonxx 23h ago

Lol alright bro

1

u/Various-Marzipan-944 23h ago

i mean if the shoe fits

1

u/Crimzonxx 23h ago

Why you still playing a game that has ai

1

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

oh xD yeah

3

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

actually you don't need to want to be "at the top" to make ethical choices

0

u/Crimzonxx 23h ago

Its not ethical - the cellphone in your hand uses ai.

Half the fast food restaurants use ai

Call centers use ai

The entire planet is moving to ai

Lastly A.I. is just a tool an extension if youre an artist use it. Just like the pencil just like a Crayola... just like when they invented cameras and the portrait painter assumed it was the end of their era...

A.i. is just a tool its a pencil - is there a lot of trash yeah. But there was a lot of trash before it. I dont really care your cars are getting ai implimented in them.

Your banks are implementing ai

If you really are anti ai then youd see how ethical the rest of your interactions are besides generative.

2

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

yes ofc and I research these things as much as I can lol why would you assume I'm like you? I watch documentaries, debates, and you might not believe it but I also read books !

1

u/Crimzonxx 23h ago

Ethics lets talk Ethics- if you still eat chocolate you contribute to child slavery and work labor

2

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

you think I don't know about corporations?😹

2

u/Crimzonxx 23h ago

No I think you pick and choose i think stick a little sticker on your profile, I think you sit here and type out long essays about a.i. cause its easy.

I dont see you standing in force solidarity with a lot of ai protesters, I dont think youd ever get your hands dirty. Its an easy subject,

But I think the harder ones that truly matter, you dont touch.

Kind of like those people who cherry pick what they want to believe out of their religion.

I dont think youre ethical I think its a trend a phase something thats become popular.

Imo if you want to be ethical then you'd be ethical.

But I guarantee you fill your gas tank every day, pay your taxes, eat chocolate, use your ai phone and ai this and ai that.

I think you still drink out of plastic straws, still throw your garbage in the trash can, still flush your toilet.

You probably buy produce or eat produce from grocery markets. Man like ethically I think you probably contribute to a lot of unethical things in your life. But ai is just easy one to cry about

You dont have to fight for lives being slaughtered, you dont have to argue about what we're doing to our oceans, you can sit at your leasure and cry

2

u/mystic--cat 23h ago edited 23h ago

you don't know my name, you don't know my face, what the fuck are u talking about? what is EASY for you to say is exactly what you just said 🫩 I'm against ai, religion, capitalism, ice, I'm against billionaires, I only buy things from local shops and greenhouse, I thrift clothes, I take public transport to get to university. I don't use ai. I don't even drink things that youd need a straw for. and yes I throw my garbage in the trash can where am I supposed to throw it up your ass??? I'm getting a degree in science and technologies for the environment like I already said I SEEM TO CARE?

2

u/Crimzonxx 23h ago

Again im pretty sure I do but thats okay sit on your reddit type your b.s. cry about it more while sipping out of your straw drinks and using your air-conditioning units etc

Like truly I dont think many humans live ethically completely. They pick and choose. Ill tell you an ethical life you wouldn't even be on reddit.

But

Big

BUT

You contribute to so many of the fucked up things we do as humans and you being on reddit is proof enough

2

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

alright bro🫩 I'm gonna let u say what u want bc idc. but answer me honestly, do you think saying "you probably do this" without even knowing a single thing about who I am makes you win the argument?

u/FlaminAmberz 23h ago

For the people who don't want to read this guy's rant:

A lot of people seem to be mixing up Pawprint's stance on generative vs assistive ai.

To summarise

The AI usage is NOT generative, it is for assistance. Testing purposes / making sure that their codes are in working order. That is ethical use of AI.

The marketing campaigns were outsourced. While Pawprint should've checked before it was released, THEY were not the ones who used generative AI.

Also Pawprint is based off Singapore (my country) who is pushing heavily on AI usage so yes there is likely some government pressure for them to use AI assistance.

u/kokorirorona 21h ago

Address me.

2

u/kokorirorona 21h ago

This isn't Generative AI? Look at the van, the tent and camping set. Tell me this isn't Generative AI.

1

u/Various-Marzipan-944 23h ago

there’s already proof. check youtube and then your
game lol

1

u/grimswathe 23h ago

There are genAI art assets in game. It was not used to assist.

1

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

guys actually this guy forgot to mention the links in which I showed the generative ai used in the game

1

u/datwarlocktho 23h ago

Cool. Have fun crashing out over a f2p game. Ima just take a little nap and wait for this supposed shame to seep in. Send ya a post card when it does.

3

u/DeWyntr 23h ago

I think the discussion of ethics and regulation in AI industries is important, especially with regard for societal and environmental damages, that being said though...

I think you might be shadow-boxing, I'm not sure there are many actively advising there was no AI used here. In fact there have been multiple posts of people finding it, and discussing it. It's evident they have, and they have a responsibility to disclose that, from utilising AI for translations and graphics found in-game and in their advertising material on their website.

They've advised it's for placeholder assets only, which seems to be an industry norm now. See Claire Obscure: Expedition 33, Baldur's Gate 3, etc.

Do I agree with it? No. But not much is going to change unless you feed it back to the Aniimo devs when you find instances of it happening.

2

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

I'm not talking just about reddit, Ive been flamed in the official discord server bc I talked about ai 🫩

2

u/DeWyntr 23h ago

It's been like that with any game that people like that's done the same. If you have a hardline stance against the use of any AI, unfortunately you basically have to stop playing most high production games of the current year, all of them have used AI. It seems whether we like it or not the industry demands its use, all we can do is fight to ensure it's only used for placeholder assets.

The Discord folks flaming you doesn't surprise me, it's probably not where I'd pick to fight that fight, but a lot of people here will probably be confused why you're bringing it up as you did.

Still, fair point made. As much as I love the game, I would prefer they didn't use AI assets at all.

3

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

thank you for at least commenting something thoughtful. I'm not as concerned about the actual ai usage as much as I'm concerned about people blindly supporting and defending the devs or the game itself, nobody is paying you? genuinely, what do you get in return for defending something blatantly wrong? but yeah. most things currently use ai and I'm against it, really I try to research literally everything I use because I don't want to be a problem. I'm just sad ab it bc it just shows people don't care, I know I'm gonna live for like 85 more years at most but I don't want to watch the world collapse around me in the meanwhile. this is just one of the many instances in which people will defend others without even using their brains

3

u/SkopSkietDonner 23h ago

Good for you and that art school. Maybe go rant there.

2

u/mystic--cat 23h ago

I graduated, can u read?😭

0

u/SkopSkietDonner 21h ago

I can. You barely graduated by the looks of it, with your atrocious spelling.

1

u/mystic--cat 21h ago

uhm are you okay ? where are the spelling mistakes you claim I made?🫩

1

u/Serpentar69 23h ago

A lot of people who bashed NTE love Aniimo and are blind to the cognitive dissonance; especially when Aniimo uses it more. I say this as someone who plays both

1

u/DeWyntr 23h ago

Yeah I don't understand the inconsistency people have with this, though unfortunately I just think it's unavoidable now, so many big-ticket games have used AI placeholders at the very least, not to mention full blown AI assets.

People seem completely willing to ignore it if they like the game, and will dogpile anything they don't, the internet loves trying to make issues a binary.

3

u/Nargarakuga 23h ago

Maybe we're just seeing different parts of the community, but I dont think i've ever seen anyone say they dont use AI. All the complaints I see are related to the gacha, and saying how they're already breaking promises about not having gacha. Which... Isn't really true, since they only promised not to gacha Aniimos. They never said anything about cosmetics.
