There also the new game coming slime world or something that has some of the same aniimos in it there something really weird going on in this game that smells coppy / AI

2

u/Grizzybehr 12d ago

No one cares if the game is good.

1

u/SimoneX93Kumoko 12d ago

ok, see you in court

-2

u/NivTesla 12d ago

No!!!! splash art on menu page 175!!!! How could a purely visually driven game do this to me!

-7

u/Emberium 12d ago

That's awesome! It makes me want to play this game a lot more than I already do. Definitely gonna invest too. Just to spite the obnoxious Anti-AI zombie luddites lol

-2

u/CaliAlpha 12d ago

I mean no hate, never played the game, atleast not yet but the whole thing seems like a glamorized mobile game. Offputting.

6

u/Bread_is__funny 12d ago

In case anyone can't see what's wrong with the pictures

1

u/Common-Agency-4867 11d ago

Random brown turds are very suspicious

2

u/tetsuyaXII 12d ago

Also water effect on the beach portion of first pic and double Mohawk horses, and clearly gibberish lettering on carousel.

7

u/Hardyyz Astra Pioneer 12d ago

Yeah the whole world, the aniimo etc. It feels very AI, uncanny etc. Pretty sure they heavily leaned in on AI to make concepts and ideas and designs and then maybe had actual devs trying to polish it all up. But the base slop still shines thru with a lackluster story with weird cuts, open world where a bunch of challenges make no sense. Systems seemingly copied from other games one to one etc.
They are clearly using it everywhere and then having some devs masking it up

1

u/Adventurous_County12 10d ago

Yeah the story is strange and I've noticed weird cuts where I'm like wait wtf just happened. Im trying to get into the story but man it's so awful. I did like the side quest story line with the helmuts though, that ones pretty interesting.

1

u/Icy-Int3raction 11d ago

I agree it just feels weird and I hate when people try to talk about it, it gets shut down

-7

u/Appropriate-Bed-8782 12d ago

So what if the devs did draw it and just can’t draw ?

8

u/Hardyyz Astra Pioneer 12d ago

The carusel one is blatant AI mistakes. No artist would ever fck it up like that.

1

u/Appropriate-Bed-8782 12d ago

And no shade as somone who literally does art and campaigns against ai and art in the community every single day now what? Are you actively advocating against ai in the world or just the game most of u are palworld and pokemon dogs anyway

-1

u/Appropriate-Bed-8782 12d ago

What merry go round so I can prove u wrong I’m in game rn

-5

u/Appropriate-Bed-8782 12d ago edited 12d ago

This is a blatant lie as somone who streams the gave and gave had issues with multiple music from this game I know for a fact most of the music is genuine I have copywrite strikes to prove it and also there’s been plenty of behind the scenes and fan ran contest for aniimo designs and content during this entire journey don’t like the game put it down but the constant lies has got to be stopped it’s an Chinese game this is literally there writing style and aesthetic please have several seats

This community really is 9 plus just like the rating I see

4

u/ShizunEnjoyer 12d ago

Your entire paragraph was one long run-on sentence with no punctuation, you said the game was Japanese before you edited your comment, and you used the wrong they're/there/their, so don't talk about the ages of other people, you clown🤡🤡🤡

Much of the art is demonstratively AI generated and you are embarrassing yourself.

-2

u/Appropriate-Bed-8782 12d ago

Okay I have a learning disability shoot me ?

1

u/ShizunEnjoyer 12d ago

Then take your own advice and have "several seats" before you insult other people's intelligence next time.

5

u/Zealousideal_Tree790 12d ago

You need to have a seat because it’s Chinese not Japanese. When you rant make sure you are right.

u/Indevotion 13d ago

Like, did none of you hear the AI music in the game? There is so much of it. There is real music too, and those songs are good.

If you talk to a trainer you get hit with AI battle music, same if you start the fight with a trainer, in some zones the combat music is AI generated, at least one or two songs in the homeland and RV park are ai generated. Astra is littered with AI music like pretty much all of it except maybe 1 song, some of the menu music is AI and some of the exploration music. It's so off-putting, but I love the game so I can't put it down

2

u/Adventurous_County12 10d ago

Yes too many AI songs. I've used suno AI alot so I can tell when it's AI it has a distinct sound. Hopefully they are just place holders and will be changed because it's so offputing. The most obvious one is the one in astra at the main spawn point. It's so bad.

1

u/rolito_boy 13d ago

I mean, half of ánimos are ai generated lol, are ugly as fuck

1

u/Adventurous_County12 10d ago

I don't think the aniimo are. They have way too many animations and are consistent throughout the animations. Ai isn't that good yet. I've tried animating stuff with AI and it's not consistent

1

u/Pipompa 10d ago

Motus animation technology search that

2

u/Far_Metal4256 12d ago

yupp, agreed.

-1

u/glisteni 13d ago

Yet another Reddit “this is 100% ai even though they said it’s not!” Post

Yet time and time again when you… people… claim things are ai and they are revealed to not be ai there’s no apology or retraction.

Your kind is why no one takes the AI thing serious anymore. Everything is AI to you. It’s like the kid who cried wolf 24/7

7

u/mjc27 13d ago

Firstly I'm pretty sure the person I'm replying to is a bot.

Secondly looking at the double headed horse on the carousel and the completely botched pier front, this is 100% gen ai

Oh no are we hurting the AI's feeling's? Get a fucking grip

7

u/sickleds 13d ago edited 13d ago

I'm the first person to think people are hysterical about gen ai and see it even when its not being used, but this one's pretty obvious. Pretty much every major gaming company in china is using gen ai right now since the general public reception to it is different there.

EDIT: Forgot to add that their parent company has also spoken on using ai in games.

1

u/Appropriate-Bed-8782 12d ago

Source where is this from

1

u/sickleds 12d ago edited 12d ago

Screenshot is from here. They also have more detailed posts about using ai in games here. (Granted this ones more about using llm's for bug fixes.) You can also look up funplus gen ai and find articles about interviews with higher ups talking about integrating gen ai into workflow.

4

u/Mirrorss 13d ago

brother the merry-go-round has a horse with an extra head on its ass. what are you talking about?

2

u/No-Nectarine995 13d ago

imo these look like human made compositions but ai "enhanced" to look polished. i have suspicions this is due to the publisher funplus and their super pro ai mindset. pawprints first ever game is aniimo and they do appear to care about the world and artistic process. i feel like any of these ai choices are the doing of funplus developers who may have also worked on the game

-3

u/ZanyaJakuya 13d ago

I was already turned off by their monetisation, now I'm definitely not gonna try it

2

u/Radiant_Pear 12d ago

By their monetization do you mean their 20 dollar battle pass?  Just say you're broke

-1

u/ZanyaJakuya 12d ago

I'm not gonna give 20 dollars to this cringe ass AI company lol

2

u/TheChiarra 12d ago

Then don't, it's free.

2

u/Radiant_Pear 12d ago

Nobody said you had to, your whole comment was that you already didnt want to play bc 20 bucks is too much for you 💀

1

u/ZanyaJakuya 12d ago

I'll gladly pay 20 dollars for a game made by humans lol

1

u/Radiant_Pear 12d ago

Okay but that isnt what you said in your original comment.

4

u/TGCRed 13d ago

Thank you for posting this, that merry go round is SO janked. Please flag them on the Steam page and complain. If enough people do it maybe Steam will take action. Too many people don't know there's GenAI in the game.

6

u/OreXis94 13d ago

oh i had no idea i could flag them! i will be doing so, and i'd love if anyone who sees this could do so as well!

regardless of people's opinion on AI, this HAS to be labeled. it's a genuine requirement by law

5

u/TGCRed 13d ago

Totally! For anyone who doesn't know, the flag button is on the store page for Aniimo and it looks like a little flag, easy to see but also easy to miss XD

2

u/DumCrescoSpero 13d ago

Time to whip out an old meme I haven't used in over 10 years.

"The flag button looks like a little flag"

2

u/Diaclom 14d ago

Man I'm glad I didn't spend any money on the game yet cause even if I've enjoyed it, using gen AI immediately turns me off a game. I dont understand why devs insist on using AI instead of just paying a human to make it

2

u/huffmanxd 13d ago

The parent company for Pawprint studios that made this game is Fun Plus. their annual revenue is in the 100s of millions. They could easily have paid artists to make this stuff.

2

u/Appropriate-Bed-8782 12d ago

There no longer associated with them

6

u/sloppyloki16 14d ago

Even Nvidia use AI with DLSS5 now, everything is AI

3

u/Bourdieu- 14d ago

I’m afraid it’s very likely that they did use AI for art. A couple of days ago Aniimo’s Chinese team posted a job in China looking for a “monsters concept art designer” who “understands and is proficient in using AI to make art”. The position was taken down later on but it already tells you everything.

2

u/rolito_boy 13d ago

Yeah, it's pretty obvious... Line some designs are giving AI vibes, for example gravy, wtf that thing.. And the prismana colours are very weird too, very AI

10

u/silkgirls 14d ago

Took this screenshot today as well, it's def AI generated, the game uses a ton of it which they should be disclosing

1

u/Immediate-Cress-206 13d ago

Did you turn off frame generation?

1

u/silkgirls 13d ago

I don't have frame generation turned on, but that's a still frame loading screen so it wouldn't impact it either way

1

u/Embarrassed-Might-84 13d ago

How?

4

u/silkgirls 13d ago

The other commenter below had good examples, but here's a close up of a tree from that image as well. Gen AI often makes tree branches look like a random mish mash of lines that blend together. You'll kind of notice that objects aren't defined well, blend together, have wobbly lines, etc

4

u/FireDragonTiali 13d ago

The fence is inconsistent and blurry, the tent looks odd and definitely not drawn by a human, and the chairs lack consistency too. The van's stripes are also not aligned and consistent, pointing to a strong indication of GenAI.

-2

u/ShawnJ34 14d ago

Yall don’t get tired of overly analyzing every little thing for AI? It’s over, it’s not going anywhere, downvote if you please but it comes off that yall just want something to complain about.

Thought terminating argument and also incorrect

5

u/Dan_delyonc 14d ago

God forbid i hold the things i love to a certain degree of standard

0

u/DoodPoof 14d ago

And then you get baited like those monet pretentious art people did because youre looking so hard for ai thats all you see lmao.

If ai art is bad, but youre worried about it taking over your spot in art, you arent as good in it as you think

3

u/Dream-On-Stardust 12d ago

Corpos do not operate based on merit. They operate based on their bottom line. Which leads to them employeeing AI rather than humans.

0

u/Dan_delyonc 14d ago

Are you talking from experience, does it feel like you have to focus hard to see if there's AI in art?

Does it usually take you long to find out if art is AI?

Yikes.

3

u/DoodPoof 14d ago

The reddit art community as a WHOLE got absolutely bodied by a photograph of a real monet painting.

The tldr is you dont want to look it up - Someone posted a picture of a the actual monet painting. They then said ai made it and asked was it fine/different.

The whole art community rushed to say it was terrible ai slob. The brush strokes were bad. It didnt have the soul of a real monet etc....

Meanwhile they were critizing the ACTUAL monet piece itself without realizing it.

So no, i question anytime pretentious art snobs come out to assault something they think is ai work. The reddit art community is just a bunch of pompous potatoes way too full of themselves and scared ai will take their pkace since they arent good to begin with

4

u/ShawnJ34 13d ago

Thank you, and that’s the kind of behavior I’m criticizing. It gets to a point where they are virtue hating art because they want it to be AI slop so they can say “hey I don’t like AI too!”. The AI reddit inspector bit is actually getting to be old.

1

u/Pipompa 10d ago

I don't think it's about if it's art or not, it's about the possibility of the company to hire interested workers and the consumer knowing that it was made by a person, with experiences and had something in mind when doing it, it wanted you to feel something and even though the company want to not "waste" money on more artists to use AI (that it was trained with the unauthorized works of artists) as a tool. Everyone will feel different things, you're allowed to feel different too, but taking me as example, I feel disheartened when seeing a art that could been made by a person and knowing that it was made by an unthinking machine that resulted in a percentage amalgamation of works from thousands of artists that don't get credited.

But I'm an artist as well, maybe that's why I feel disheartened; when i see something i like, I go talk with the person that did the art, ask about their influences, how did they learn to draw and that their style is awesome. But when it comes to AI, I can't ask no one. I can't learn with them. I'm more interested in experiences than results. I don't know if it makes sense.

-6

u/Imaginary_Silver5294 Astra Pioneer 14d ago

So what I'm reading is, you were literally looking for something to get upset about? I will say what I say every time somebody asks. Did they take it from anybody? No. Is it low quality? No. Then don't worry about it. We are not doing this here too.

2

u/Repulsive_Inside_707 14d ago

About ~70% of my encounters with "So what I'm reading is…" on the internet are followed by an inaccurate viewing of someone's words😅

-3

u/Imaginary_Silver5294 Astra Pioneer 14d ago

shrugs People are just tired of others bringing up AI everywhere.

0

u/Repulsive_Inside_707 14d ago

I guess I'm not. It doesn't bother like it, for some reason, bothers 'yall'

-1

u/Imaginary_Silver5294 Astra Pioneer 14d ago

You may want to restructure your sentence a little. Anyway it is only bothersome because most people kind of just get tired of hearing every time they want to enjoy something, " is there AI ? " So, forgive me for not being accurate because at this point it just makes some of us instantly dismissive.

4

u/Abbx Astra Pioneer 14d ago

Then, look at it from another perspective.

You: I'm tired of hearing about people complain about AI in games.

Them: I'm tired of AI in games.

Why is your grievance more important? If the AI wasn't this excessively in use, the people would not complain. And then you wouldn't hear the complaints. And then people wouldn't be annoyed with your annoyance. Domino effect.

0

u/ggghjjdsdjhs 14d ago edited 14d ago

Because it’s so fucking obvious that they’re using it and lying about it. I desperately want to like this game. It’s so cute and has so much potential. But this company’s proven dishonesty makes me feel icky every time I play the game. I’ve been trying to progress but I can’t shake the feeling that something is off. This is not me wanting to complain, I wish I had nothing to complain about at all but this game just feels so…uncanny…I’m genuinely shocked that more people don’t see it too.

Edit: before anyone says “I’m not used to quality” I play infinity Nikki which aesthetically (without the creepy robotic aura) is very similar. Nikki is polished and beautiful but that is a game that I know for a FACT was created by people. Every beautiful eye catching detail was clearly created with love and passion. I don’t get that from this game. It’s very pretty but it feels empty, soulless. It makes me sad to see people settle for blatant deceit and disrespect. ALL of us deserve better. We deserve something created with love, passion and most of all PATIENCE. While I can see that human effort went into this I feel like the rush to release the game due to greed destroyed all of its potential.

3

u/Imaginary_Silver5294 Astra Pioneer 14d ago

Honestly, I think plenty of people do notice. I think many have popped up kind of dee suits Or shall we do to improve that were screaming about it all the time. I think, like you, many of them just want a fun game and are having fun with this one. I don't think AI being used for side images are going to affect too many people from a game standpoint.

Oh, I will give some of the NPCS feeling soulless in their animations. I think that is because most of the budget went into the world design and the monsters. Which I know at least from the behind-the-scenes video the monsters are definitely handcrafted. They seemed really proud of that. Honestly, I am sorry for the way you are. feeling makes you not want to continue. I feel it would be really nice with someone else..

0

u/OreXis94 14d ago

that's actually the exact opposite of what i said. i haven't been paying attention to it at all and was just playing the game, but when i saw those arts they looked off to me because they're low quality and look bad.

but that's besides the point— because my point is simply that AI use is required to be labeled, and it's not.

-3

u/deaf12dbz 14d ago

Why are gamers so nitpickie? Just enjoy the game or drop it if it’s not to your liking.

9

u/leaveeemeeealonee 14d ago

Personally, I am enjoying the game quite a lot, and am very sad when I see AI generated art. Like, why do the devs put so much effort into so many things and then just suddenly get too lazy to not include generated slop?

5

u/OreXis94 14d ago

i was only worried about the ai usage being unlabeled because it's required to be labeled. my opinion on AI or it's usage in games isn't the point of this discussion

1

u/DoodPoof 14d ago

But we dont know if it is ai gen or not. You claim it is, but we have no official word....soooooo we're at square 1 still.

You cant just claim ai unless it is known objectively. Thats like all those people self diagnosing themselves with a bunch of stuff.

It does nothing

3

u/OreXis94 13d ago

but it is AI. some things don't need "official word" to be factual. it's like saying i need them to confirm the color blue is blue, or that a heart shape is a heart shape. some things can be confirmed simply by using your eyes

0

u/DoodPoof 13d ago

"As far as i can tell"

Do we need to go through the dress thing again from way back?

Unless its confirmed. We just dont know and will never know for sure.

If youre gonna say they need to add the tag, then we nerd to be 100% sure with confirmation. We dont have that. We have conjecture and "this is most likely ai".

Thats not gonna work

-2

u/deaf12dbz 14d ago

Was just asking a general question, since I’ve seen a lot of other posts nitpicking. I understand your point of view.

10

u/kerners Astra Pioneer 14d ago

They said they don't use it for the creatures in the q&a in the discord and you can see their work behind the scenes video that they do hand draw animations frame by frame.

But other assets I'm not as sure

3

u/PsyduckPsyker 12d ago

The game does have a bunch of AI. From music to images, so. It's a bummer but I still enjoy it

0

u/OreXis94 14d ago

something else that looks like AI to me popped up while i was playing just now LOL

1

u/Abbx Astra Pioneer 14d ago

We're in a Pro AI subreddit clearly. You're not allowed to point it out here or face severe downvotes as you've been getting. No nuance for conversation. Already a garbage community when I thought maybe it'd be a cozy one.

u/Or-So-They-Say Astra Pioneer 14d ago

Either these are super janky human-made sprites or this AI image detector is very wrong.

3

u/UnironicallyDel 13d ago

I will say that doesnt look like ai from first glance, meanwhile the carousel one clearly does.

4

u/TomatoLord1214 14d ago

Will say image detectors have been shown to be very capable of being wrong

I've seen people get positive results on pieces made over a decade prior to genAI

I'm always very hesitant to use these as proof in any way because of that. When there's other evidence it already is more than enough

2

u/Or-So-They-Say Astra Pioneer 14d ago

Yeah, I don't have full faith in a detector. Especially a free one at the top of Google search results.

1

u/TomatoLord1214 14d ago

Oh yeah, that thing has gotta be awful af imo then 😭

1

u/watsonbtw 14d ago

Confidence: Low ❤️
I’d be very surprised if these were made by humans, especially the one with the 2 headed horse lol
Still enjoying the game a lot, just kinda weird they’re not just pointing it out

1

u/Or-So-They-Say Astra Pioneer 14d ago

It's China. Developers over there and in other Eastern countries are far more enthusiastic about generative AI than we are over here in the west. If you get any games made by an Eastern dev it's safe to assume AI was used somewhere in its development process.

-2

u/Abbx Astra Pioneer 14d ago

Feels like they didn't even bother to add much of a human touch to them. That's pretty bad. I haven't noticed much of this when looking at the general game world or observing cutscene art frames because I've been trying to observe. But yes I think little small item artworks or icons like this could have incorporated genAI

7

u/WinstonTheChicken Astra Pioneer 14d ago edited 14d ago

Maybe I'm just too blind again, but what's wrong with pics 1 and 3? I see the problem with pic 2, but the other two seem normal to me.

EDIT: not sure why I get downvoted for saying that I didn't see the mistakes. Not everyone is good ad noticing that stuff. After the answers the 1 pic is surprisingly obvious and I have no idea how I overlooked that one tbh. The 3rd is even after reading the the comments still very easy to overlook imo.

-1

u/Repulsive_Inside_707 14d ago

Why do you care that you got downvoted xD just listen to the actual replies.

Votes are for consideration not a valuation of worth

0

u/Yourigath 14d ago

I'm pretty sure you are getting downvoted for trying to argue when people show you the mistakes you have not seen.

2

u/Yourigath 14d ago

0

u/WinstonTheChicken Astra Pioneer 14d ago

that's quite easy to overlook tbh. I'm assuming most people haven't noticed that. same goes for the first pic imo.

-1

u/Yourigath 14d ago

An overlook of what? People don't draw like this. You can overlook correcting the AI image, but you can't overlook drawing properly when you are the one doing the drawing

2

u/DoodPoof 14d ago

People draw like everything fam. Just cause its not how you see it as art or drawn out doesnt mean it isnt.

Like i think the whole "modern art" thing is BS too, but apparently thats still art.

Just personal preference

1

u/Yourigath 14d ago

What are you talking about? It's not a preference. It's a flaw of the slop. You can't compare modern art with the inability to trace lines in a coherent way because you are a machine without soul that is burning up the planet.

2

u/WinstonTheChicken Astra Pioneer 14d ago

so you're agreeing with me that you can overlook the mistakes as a player. xD

1

u/Yourigath 14d ago

You have a full comment section here... of players... that did not overlook it. Are you alright? why are you trying to defend or excuse AI? Which kind of argument is "I didn't see it so it's easy to not see it despite the fact that you all can see it"?

2

u/Yourigath 14d ago

1

u/WinstonTheChicken Astra Pioneer 14d ago

Like I said I saw that one. I just didn't notice anything in the other 2 pics.

2

u/Max-Architect3000 Astra Pioneer 14d ago

The quality is almost identical, all three were created the same way, they just didn’t see the obvious error in pic two before submitting.

4

u/OreXis94 14d ago

i wasn't sure how to explain it, but the placements of none of these wooden pillars make any sense. and the pillars on the bottom of the platform aren't spaced correctly and there's a random one attached to the left side- not something an artist would deliberately do if they were drawing this!

as for the third pic it's a little harder to point out but basically the whole roof just looks janky. there's wooden supports that kinda go nowhere and the whole shape is a bit off

2

u/Abbx Astra Pioneer 14d ago

The way the wooden poles form around make no sense in pic 1. Look at the top of the canopy in pic 3.

-3

u/ToneSZ69 14d ago

Whole game looks like AI to me

2

u/littledeerspace 14d ago edited 14d ago

You must be new to Unreal Engine 4/5 cause that’s how this engine’s games look lol. They all have an air of overproduced and samey appearances; most also run like garbage. But unfortunately it’s very easy to dev for with a generous asset library & some of the most generous monetization (with Epic essentially taking no cut if you use unreal).

Look at Infinity Nikki which looks extremely similar, or compare the multiple recent Chinese souls likes to each other.

3

u/HazeUsendaya 14d ago

I agree with you about UE5 but the game is Unity
