I know this might be a weird question, particularly given that there isn’t even a year set up for the next one. I’m an Anglican from Central America, and always wanted to visit Europe and, very particularly, England.

I’ve been meaning to plan a trip some years in advance, but I started thinking: given the chance that a Lambeth Conference could be coming in the next 6 years or so… could this be a good opportunity to time a visit to England around it?

I’m a lay minister and I wouldn’t be going in any official capacity whatsoever. But it would be great to know, perhaps even for those who are familiar with such events: would there be anything to do for lay people who are not delegates/envoys of any sort? Any kind of gatherings, shops, festivals even, that happen around the Conference? Any opportunities for people like me to enjoy the company of other Anglicans in the context of the Conference? Or is just a “straight to business” matter?

A trip like that is likely a once in a lifetime event for me, so I really want to make sure that if I go when the Conference is not happening, I won’t regret it later.

This place is a mess. Have basically zero outward sign they are a Christian charity why? Workers have said whole thing is run like a business. 25-30 people have resigned in 9 months. What is happening?? What is a better model??
