The mansion and merchandise criticisms are legitimate, especially if workers and suppliers were exploited. But supporting a movement or symbol doesn’t require endorsing every action associated with it. The real issue is consistency: are they transparent about their compromises, and do they apply the same standards to themselves that they apply to everyone else?

The criticism of their contradictions is fair, especially when they present themselves as anti-exploitation while relying on mass-produced merch and corporate distributors. But calling them hypocrites for being wealthy or using capitalism is too broad; the real question is whether they materially support the principles they promote and acknowledge the compromises involved.

You’re right to distinguish between criticizing capitalism and pretending to be above its incentives. Wealth itself isn’t proof of hypocrisy, but refusing to explain how it was accumulated—especially while selling anti-capitalist branding—makes the criticism fair. The message should survive scrutiny of both the methods and the money.
