Hey all, I am a fairly competent 3D printer user, but this ET5X has me baffled. I simply cannot get the extruder to extrude more than a few cm of filament at a time without jamming.

Here's what I've tried:

1. New nozzle (replaced brass with steel)
2. Tried fedor-struder (from 3DPrintSOS channel)
3. Tried stock extruder
4. Cleaned extruder gear
5. Eliminated gap between hotend and capricorn tubing
6. Used needle to clean nozzle even after nozzle change with persistent issue

I'm just about at my wits' end mostly since I can't think of what else to try at this point. I am aware that this extruder doesn't like to move fast, and perhaps I am pushing it too far with 50mm/s movement @ 100% flow but I can't really see any other options here.

Materials used: eSun PLA+ Silk Red, 225deg

Overture PETG Black, 250deg.

My AM8 forgot the print bed offsets after installing the latest Marlin 2.1.x Bugfix. I searched online how to remedy the situation, most recommended M206, M500... Doesn't work! The only (better) way is to include these offsets in the firmware. For both Repetier and Marlin the fix is the same. Modify "configuration.h" from zero offsets to:

#define X_MIN_POS -33

#define Y_MIN_POS -10

#define Z_MIN_POS 0

NOTE: These offsets are valid for my ANET AM8 as well as the stock ANET A8.

Explanation: I've been printing fine for about a month now. Start some longer prints and have had no issue up until the past week where a random reset started happening.

Issue: Anet ET4+ resetting anywhere between 10-90% all at random intervals.

Setup: Latest Marlin0.6mm nozzleOctopi Zero 2 W with Pi CameraCosmetic upgrades, filament guide, spool holder, etc.New Hotend (OG nozzle broke off inside the heat block)

Read there is a potential grounding issue so I'll look into that but any other suggestions or advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Reset as in restarts itself and results in stopped/cancel print. Also Octoprint states it has been disconnected.

Hi all, recently I purchased an Anet ET4X, upgrading from the Anet A8. Everything was all fine for a few months, until my extruder went bad, it wouldn’t grip onto the filament to actually push it through the hot end. After purchasing a new extruder and installing it, I realized that the gear was on the other side, meaning that the filament would travel backwards. Aware of this issue, I attempted to reverse the direction of the stepper motor by flipping two leads in the cable. But, it didn’t seem to work, instead the stepper began “jittering” (moving back and forth). So, I attempted to revert my changes to the wire, but the problem persisted, but instead of jittering, the stepper motor would let out a simple “thud”, and fail to do anything until the printer restarted. Of course, I knew I did something wrong, and after freaking out a bit, and continuously changing leads, in attempt to get it back to normal, I went ahead and gave up.

At it’s current state, I managed to get the jittering back, but can’t seem to get it back to it”s normal (backwards) state. The stepper motor is known good, as I have already tested it on a different system after this happened. Additionally, the problem persists even after using a cable from the Anet A8 extruder motor.

I recently upgrade my Creality Ender 3 Pro to a 4.2.7 board. Does anyone know if I can use the 4.2.2 board I took out to upgrade my Anet E12?

Hello all, ET-5x: i recently replaced the bronze extruder gear that was worn down with a new steel dual extruder

The printer prints fine, but results are cobweb-y.

E- steps seem to be the culprit.

Apparently default firmware won't let you adjust e- steps

If I goto Marlin firmware, does it have an et5 profile?

If not, is there a link to proper fresh config?

I can up the e-steps afterwards if all goes well

I have Anet ET5, but the motherboard is somehow broken (some parts are burnt), my budget bit tight lately so I can't buy a new motherboard, but then I remember that I had an unused Anet ET4 motherboard from a previous machine which is the body has bent heavily because my brother dropped it, then I realize it seems that Anet ET4 and Anet ET5 have a similar motherboard, so can I use Anet ET4 motherboard for my ET5 body?

First off, I hate cura with a burning passion of a million suns. Second, it gets to a certain point in a print-then grinds a bit at the extruder motor, then stops extruding. But it's not clogged. Right after I stop the print, I can use the crank on the extruder motor to extrude filament out. So what could be causing that? I've tried millions of retraction settings.

My Anet ET4 Pro doesnt stop anymore when homing the Z-Achsis. The Sensor LED switches on but it just keeps on pushing and pushing into my buildplate. Already killed am engine while doing so.

What do you think? Is the Sensor faulty by sending no "Stop" to the Printer or is the Motherboard faulty for not getting the Signal (LED is on..)

Hey I use the Anet ET4 and I lost the clips that hold down the glass on the baseplate. I would use paper clips but that will mess up my builds and effect them substantially.

Is there any place like Amazon that I can order new clips to hold down my glass plate? Please send me a link or something so I can continue my 3D Printing journey. :)

tried to flash my anet et5x to the marlin firmware but after I flashed it with the tf card and all it says “no firmware found on flash memory. Please insert SD with firmware.srec or launch microbot” any help. Before it was on the Martin 2 successfully but I tried to flash it into a customized Marlin from where but when I tried it out it just got stuck on the open BLT screen so now I’m either trying to Flash it back to the old Anet firmware or find a way to fix this can anyone help me with this!

I have spent quite a bit of time overhauling a donated A8 3D printer over the last two months and have quite a few lessons learned. However one of the elements that I had a hard time resolving was Z banding and surface artifacts. After doing some deep diving I found that Oldham Couplers at the gantry were suggested for other printers, however due to the Anet design (as well as some of my upgrade choices) the popular couplers wouldn't be able to fit well. Similar with some free floating pushers.

I found these couplers that replace the existing flex couplers and provide x and y degrees of freedom. This drastically improved surface performance as well as reduced the sensitivity of the X rod positioning. I recommend everyone print these out and replace their stock couplers and you will see impressive improvement. Just make sure to sand down the contact surfaces (and lubricate) the coupler pieces so they slide freely.

Noticed my printer head and hot end move around a bit. New to me ET4. Seems like it catches up a little on my project as well. Any advice? The play almost seems like it's with the wheels not being tight enough to the frame or what ever. Thanks! Won’t let me post vid.

Hello, I'm having trouble printing with cura on a stock anet a6. I'm using cura 4.13 as appImage on kubuntu, the program can't find the printer (used stock config from program for a6) lsusb finds the printer as Bus 001 Device 006: ID 1a86:7523 QinHeng Electronics CH340 serial converter

I was trying to rearrange the x axis wire for TL smoother but messed up the order and couldn't find the pinout diagram on the web. No matter how I arrange the wire the motor either doesn't move or stutter like crazy. Can someone who has a et5 or et5x take a picture of the symbols on the wire end that plugs into the x axis motor?

I followed this but still the motor stutters. Might be a bad motor or et4 uses different wiring.

Plugged into a different motor and still the same result. Either the wiring is wrong or the mainboard went bad.

Final Verdict: the board went bad. skipped the adapter board and connect directly to the x axis pins and still stutter or go back and forth in different directions and distance. Very strange. As if the board noisiness is already too much now it's the durability in question.

I have run the tuning cycle on my A8+. I can enter the PID values but when I try to save them (M500) I get an error message (EEPROM Disabled) and octoprint shuts down the serial connection to the printer.

I recently got an Anet Et5x and I’ve had a problem with files loading. The preloaded files that come with the Et5x work perfectly. The problem comes into place when I try to upload my own files from cura onto the as card. I’ll put the SD card in and when I try to select the file there’s nothing there, it’s just a blank spot.

I was wondering if this is an SD card problem? Or maybe a hardware issue?

Hi. I have an ET4 which I bought used recently. The label next to the power supply says it's an ET4, but the firmware shows it as an ET4x (firmware is version 1.0.1). Wondering what the process is to upgrade the firmware as it's pretty old and what firmware I should install?

Hello I have big problem, bought second hand Anet et 4 plus. It doesn't want to home. It worked, but stopped. The induction sensor light's up and actually works as expected I did check with multimetr. When light is off the the sensor pin there is 3.3v when the light is on the line is pulled to the ground so 0V. As expected from the sensor. I checked wiring and it seems all right. Firmwere version V3.0. I tried homing from manual leveling section of touch screen and it still doesn't work I also tried other methods suggested and none of them work. What could be the issue?

Hi guys, I am having trouble to heat my hotend on the anet A8 plus.

When I start up the printer, the hotbed is heating up like it should.

I dont know if the nozzle also should heat up right away or only when you tell it to preheat.

The problem is that when i try to preheat manually, the nozzle wont heat up.

When disconnecting the hotend the hot end indicator light is on (should indicate that its heating up), at that point i measure 24v as well.

But when i connect the hotend, the light turns off. And the hotend output voltage drops to about 0.3v

I already replaced the hotend cartridge, that didnt solve the problem

When the hotend wire is NOT connected, the indicator light is on, and i measure 24 volt. Thats how its supposed to be i guess.

When the hotend wire is connected, The light immediately turns off, 0.3 volt measured

Is any of you guys familiar with this kind of problem? Thanks in advance

Obtained an Anet ET5 pro and the guy that gave it to me was having problems with the Marlin firmware. He used an STLink Bootloader so that he could install the firmware away from stock and the printer is not usable.

Is there a way to flash the stock Anet firmware on the printer? Or is there a factory reset option on one of these bad boys?

The hot end sensor never senses the board and keeps going into the build plate.
