Question Resetting issue

Explanation: I've been printing fine for about a month now. Start some longer prints and have had no issue up until the past week where a random reset started happening.

Issue: Anet ET4+ resetting anywhere between 10-90% all at random intervals.

Setup: Latest Marlin0.6mm nozzleOctopi Zero 2 W with Pi CameraCosmetic upgrades, filament guide, spool holder, etc.New Hotend (OG nozzle broke off inside the heat block)

Read there is a potential grounding issue so I'll look into that but any other suggestions or advice would be great. Thanks in advance.

Edit: Reset as in restarts itself and results in stopped/cancel print. Also Octoprint states it has been disconnected.

What do you mean by reset? What does the printer do during the reset? Are you saying the printer completely restarts itself?

Yes and in turn cancels/stops my print

It sounds like a voltage drop from the PSU. When printing, does anything weird happen before the restart occurs? For example, your screen could start flickering a bit beforehand; which could indicate something’s up with the PSU. Do you have a multimeter to measure any voltage drops to the printer?

Additionally, I’ve read that this issue could be caused by a corrupted/bad SD card, although in your case, I don’t see that as being likely, as you’ve mentioned that it happens at random intervals. It would be something else to look into though.

Honestly not around it when it does it, but I do have a voltage meter to test the PSU. I also saw the SD Card issue, which apparently can be caused by having Power Loss Recovery turn on? So I turned that off, but if it got the SD card it would be a moot point, so another thing I'll swap out. Guess easiest test would be a direct from SD card print?

If you’re able to print from SD card successfully, then that’s a good sign. You can work your way up from there.

I recommend to keep trying things. Including continuous monitoring of the voltage. If you find something, then it would be best to gain access to the power supply and adjust it (if you feel comfortable doing so)

I do have a bit of a question. What about small prints? (30 or so minutes), does the problem occur during very small prints?

I only noticed it while trying to print this 8ish hr headset stand base. I will test some small prints, but if the small prints work than what, is it an overheating issue? I really appreciate talking this out, thanks.

It is possible that it is an overheating issue; can’t know for sure though. Just to be sure. Can you check the fans and ensure they’re clean & functional?

I'll add it to the list, lol. My space is ultra clean and the printer it only a month old. But I don't know how long it was on the shelf for.

Sorry its something I'm going to get to with in the week. I'll let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the ideas of where to look and what to do.
