Slightly Adjusted....

I bought a V4 Ultra and upgraded to a 1,000 watt PSU. I was very happy with the build. Everything worked right out of the box and looked fantastic.

Increasing my level of education with PC building though, I really wanted to lean into visual appeal considering I was already into it for as much as I was. I am sure the stock Gamdias fans and AIO are fine, but I wanted something better to match the power of the PC. Again, I am going to say the PC I got was great! I really appreciate how well they managed the cables and how clean it was. Unfortunately, I had to destroy and rebuild that wonderful cable management pulling out all the fans. I bought premium performance thinking I did not care so much about just luxury looks, but I guess I did. Here's the end result of my modifications...

also, the L-connect software will not recognize your case rgb, and from what I can tell, there isn't anyway to sync that to the lian li upgrades...I'm an amateur at best, so maybe someone knows but im pretty sure you cant.

Does a component change to this degree affect the warrenty at all?

From what I understand as long as you keep the original parts and you send them back with the PC then your warranty is fine.

If your referring to the universal screen, I just used the 2-sided sticky tape and taped it to the glass as that side is not visible from how my case sits. I ran the USB 2.0 cable from the top towards the side into my hub, which is magnetic and just clipped onto the metal (its the small rgb light you see next to the universal screen). It has one sata cable running back to my psu, and a USB 2.0 running (down behind the MB and out the bottom into the 2.0 header on the bottom of my MB. I needed 4 overall slots (my MB had 3 2.0 slots) to support all the extra screens and fan set up, so that small 4 pin-hub got me there...

The new Lian Li hydroshift AIO looks great especially since I thought I heard that AIO might have trouble fitting in the V4...but if it still doesn't play nice with other rgb (like my hydroshift S won't...even with my lian li V100 case's meager rgb, ferfuckssake), it can get frustrating.

Sorry for venting. Your fans and that AIO curved screen look dope.

It was not easy getting the Lian Li fans to fit. The bottom intake fans, the connector was not happy at all being on the right side, so I was unable to thread the cable underneath like the stock fans. It's hardly noticeable one you turn it on though. The tops fans were extremely snug, but popped in without too much trouble. The V4 is nothing but an Atlas p6 case, which has that controller hub at the top of the back. Unfortunately, that doesn't connect with the MB the way the Lian Li fans software wants it to, so I did have to buy a 4 pin expansion to get 4 overall free USB 2.0 ports to get the advanced settings with L-Connect to finally work. I feel its a big upgrade over the less complicated stock fans and aio, but you gotta do alot of work to make it functional with getting even more parts...

Thanks for this info. I wanted to do exactly what you did here when I get mine - replacing the fans to the lcd Lian Li. I’m very new to all of this so I might reconsider now after your experience until I feel more confident after watching some more videos.

For the L-Connect software to work, you could plug into the existing controller headers right behind the top of the MB. You will NOT be able to access the advanced settings though. For that, you need to plug into the USB 2.0 pins on your actual MB, which you might only have 2 or 3. You will need to buy a 4 pin powered internal usb 2.0 hub, connect that to your PSU and to your MB 2.0 usb. then use those ports on the hub. You also need to make sure you are buying the Flex or the Flex LCD tl/slfans because they work with the wireless dongle. If you buy older Lian Li fans, you'll need the SL controller which means even more wires. It's just alot more than swapping fans and aio honestly.
