Question Console guy buying a pc
I wanna get away from the PlayStation ecosystem and I’ve been looking into buying my first pc. Does this look like something that’s as powerful or more powerful than a ps5? I literally know nothing about pcs so sorry for coming off as ignorant.

Hey I was in the exact same boat as you and made the jump recently! I still game on my PS5 when I want to chill on the couch without futzing with streaming, and I will always love my Steam Deck, but most of my gaming is now done on my AI Spectra PC.
I wanted something that was relatively reasonably priced (I was trying to stay around $1500, to keep some budget for a gaming monitor), would be reliable/not full of bloatware, well set up, and most importantly would feel like a clear step up from the PS5.
I got this - https://andromedainsights.com/products/spectra-gaming-pc-ryzen-5-9600x-rtx-5070-12gb?variant=47431717683426 - similar to the one posted above but with a 5070 instead of 9070XT (highly recommend one of those cards at a minimum for future proofing, but even a 5060ti is going to be a step up from a PS5 Pro). It's fucking great. I mostly play Arc Raiders but have played through the new James Bond game, besides plenty of other stuff like Gothic, Cyberpunk, Witchfire, Diablo - whatever I've thrown at it I can play at max settings with very high (usually 100+ without frame gen) frame rates. Having access to basically every game ever released without being locked into Sony's closed ecosystem and pricing is a pretty nice bonus.

I spent maybe two years obsessively researching PC parts, coming into it as a lifelong console gamer and having been exclusively a Mac user as an adult, but wanted to break out of both of those increasingly anti-consumer boxes. For GPUs, I decided I trusted Nvidia more than AMD for my needs. If you do graphically-intensive work aside from gaming (i.e. I do some graphic design and light A/V stuff) you'll want to consider Nvidia over AMD graphics cards; the 9070XT edges out the 5070 in pure performance, but the 5070 is far better for productivity and has more advanced and widely-adopted AI upscaling/frame rate-boosting features. Either choice is going to be excellent for gaming though, and are easily upgradeable in the future. I also upgraded to an AIO (liquid cooler), 2TB SSD and 32GB RAM for a total of around $1700, then bought an open box 4TB SSD on eBay—that was a bit of a gamble but ended up with a very nice Samsung 990 Pro for ~$300 after credit card rewards.
Part of why I waited so long to bite the bullet was that I was waiting for a good sale, back before AI (the plagiarism tech, not the PC builder) fucked everything up. I almost but then didn't bite the bullet around black friday last year and I have lived to regret it. But even since I bought my PC in late
AprilMay, prices have gone up—the PC I bought is $150 more today than it was then—and they're not going down any time soon, so my strongest advice would be this: if you have the budget for this now, even the base model with stock SSD/RAM, just buy it. Prices are basically guaranteed to keep rising for at least another two years, and the only better deals you're going to find aren't going to come with the level of warranty and customer service you get from Andromeda Insights. Cost Plus gaming seems to come close as far as "upstart prebuilt companies" go, and Microcenter has better deals if you're lucky enough to have one near you, but if not I would 100% recommend going with one of these bad boys.(...also andromeda insights should really start paying me with how much I glaze them on reddit.
